You will provide leadership, operational oversight, instructor development, and customer support while maintaining instructional competency within the assigned training programme.\nWorking closely with the Head of Training, Deputy Head of Training, instructor teams, scheduling, regulatory, technical, customer service, and sales functions, you will support training excellence, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction.\nKey responsibilities include:\nOversee assigned training programmes to support effective training delivery, customer satisfaction, instructor utilisation, and business objectives.\nDeliver simulator instruction in accordance with approved training programmes, customer requirements, regulatory standards, and CAE procedures.\nEnsure training records, regulatory documentation, and associated training administration activities are completed accurately and in accordance with applicable requirements.\nSupport training scheduling activities to ensure appropriate instructor allocation and operational coverage for customer training requirements.\nEnsure adherence to approved processes, procedures, manuals, and regulatory requirements.\nAct as a point of contact with technical personnel to support training device serviceability and suitability for approved training curricula.\nSupport customer and sales activities as delegated by the Deputy Head of Training.\nManage assigned instructors under delegated authority from the Manager Training Services, including oversight of instructor qualifications, authorisations, and currency requirements.\nConduct simulator and classroom observations, assessments, and competency reviews to support instructor performance and development.\nSupport instructor standardisation initiatives and facilitate instructor meetings, briefings, and training updates as required.\nContribute to workforce planning and provide staffing recommendations to support operational requirements.\nSupport training course preparation, ensuring course materials and documentation are available before programme commencement.\nContribute to the development and maintenance of training curricula, courseware, and associated training materials as required.\nMonitor trainee progress, identify performance concerns, and escalate or address issues in accordance with delegated authority and approved procedures.\nSupport compliance with applicable Approved Training Organisation (ATO) requirements, including responsibilities assigned through approved training manuals.\nPerform other reasonable duties required to support safe, compliant, and effective training delivery in line with CAE procedures and business needs.\nMinimum Qualifications\nHold, or have held, a professional pilot licence (CPL, ATPL, or equivalent recognised aviation qualification). EASA and/or UK CAA ATPL are very desirable but not mandatory.\nHold, or have held, a valid Simulator Flight Instructor (SFI), Type Rating Instructor (TRI), or equivalent instructor qualification appropriate to the assigned training programme.\nExtensive aviation training and flight training experience.\nWorking knowledge of applicable aviation regulations, training governance requirements, and Approved Training Organisation (ATO) processes.\nExperience supporting instructor oversight, training delivery, or operational training management activities.\nExperience maintaining training records and ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.\nStrong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality, accuracy, and customer focus.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.\nAbility to work flexible schedules, including weekends, public holidays, and other operational requirements where required.\nAbility to travel within the assigned training region as required.\nFluent English language skills, both written and verbal.\nPreferred Qualifications\nPrevious leadership or management experience within an aviation training environment.\nExperience managing instructor qualifications, currency, standardisation, or performance programmes.\nExperience conducting instructor assessments, observations, or competency evaluations.\nExperience contributing to courseware development, training design, or curriculum development activities.\nExperience supporting customer-facing training programmes and stakeholder engagement activities.\nExperience working across multiple training locations or regional training operations.\nKnowledge of local language(s) in addition to English.\nAdvanced understanding of instructor standardisation, training quality assurance, and continuous improvement methodologies.\nBenefits\nWe’ve designed flexible policies to promote well-being and growth, based on role-specific eligibility and requirements:\nPrivate health insurance (BUPA).\nHealthcare cash plan.\nEmployee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).\nPension scheme.\nElectric Car Scheme.\nCycle to Work Scheme.\nLife Assurance.\nCAE Global Flexible Vacation Programme.\nAbout CAE\nAt CAE, our mission is clear: to help make the world a safer place.
