Provides work control lines and elevations required for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials by craftsmen, i.e. forms for concrete pours, etc. Must recognize quality issues beyond locations and elevations. May be viewed as supervision and may need to intervene in any safety or quality issues as needed. Must learn and understand all safety hazards related to the work and learn to safely and effectively use or operate work related tools and equipment. May be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.\nResponsibilities\n*The following are intended as general illustrations of the work in this job class and are not all-inclusive for this position.\nResearch previous survey evidence, maps, deeds, physical evidence, and other records to obtain data needed for surveys\nProvide topographic and cross-section surveys required for planning and payment quantities, and provides quantity calculations as required\nDevelop new data from photogrammetric records\nKeep accurate notes, records, and sketches to describe and certify work performed\nPrepare documentation (field books and diaries) of surveying activities\nMaintain condition and adjustment of surveying equipment\nCheck as-built conditions that require use of surveying techniques\nPrepare or revises engineering drawings as directed\nDetermine methods and procedures for establishing or reestablishing survey control\nCoordinate findings with work of engineering and architectural personnel, clients, and others concerned with project\nCoordinate surveying activities with superintendent to meet construction requirements\nQualifications\nPhysical: While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee may be required to:\nMove throughout active construction and project site environments, including areas with uneven terrain, mud, gravel, sand, and other varying surface conditions.\nPosition themselves to inspect work, access materials, equipment, structures, and work areas at ground level, overhead, and in restricted-access locations.\nAscend and descend stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and other elevated work surfaces while maintaining safety requirements.\nFrequently handle, operate, and use hand tools, power tools, equipment, instruments, and materials associated with assigned job duties.\nFrequently move, transport, position, push, pull, lift, or carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance or mechanical devices where available.\nFrequently communicate and exchange information with crew members, supervisors, clients, subcontractors, vendors, and others in field and office settings.\nUnderstand information presented through written, electronic, verbal, visual, and environmental sources to support safe and effective job performance.\nWork in a variety of environments, including outdoor settings exposed to heat, cold, rain, humidity, wind, noise, dust, and other weather or site-related conditions.\nWork in confined spaces, restricted access areas, or elevated locations when required by project needs and in accordance with applicable safety requirements.\nPerform work activities ranging from sedentary to heavy physical exertion depending on project assignment and operational needs.\nMental: While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee may be required to:\nCommunicate and collaborate effectively with crew members,
