Job Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing all production operations to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality products while meeting safety, quality, and cost objectives. The role involves managing production schedules, optimizing resource utilization, driving process improvements, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and leading production teams to achieve operational excellence. The Production Manager collaborates closely with Quality, Maintenance, Supply Chain, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to maximize productivity, minimize downtime, and foster a culture of continuous improvement, employee engagement, and workplace safety.
Responsibilities:
- Following and establishing EHS protocols in the workplace.
- Ensuring timely production & dispatch of the materials as planned by the Production head.
- Ensuring smooth operation and process control of the equipment. Knowledge on PLC and SCADA system.
- Implementation & active contribution in sustenance of 5S activity inside the plant.
- Daily operational data reporting pertaining to KPI
- Shift wise manpower allocation and machine planning for proper utilization of resources
- Daily coordination with Line Manager, maintenance, quality & dispatch team.
- Meeting the quality & efficiency parameters of product following SOP/Work Instructions
- Meeting all departmental KPIs and Preparing daily, weekly & monthly reports.
- Stock management of raw materials, chemicals and Finished Goods.
- Online packing of THC and Ramming Mass after quality clearance as per packing SOP and helping dispatch team to load truck as and when required.
- Providing necessary training to departmental workers as per guidelines.
- Meeting statutory and regulatory norms, knowledge on calibration of instruments, fire-fighting equipment availability, stock taking audit etc.
Skills & Competencies:
- Essential: BE/BTech in Ceramic Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Preferred: Knowledge on refractory plant operation or application
- Experience: 2 to 5 years in Refractory Production.
Skills:
- Clear understanding of refactory production process.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and incident investigation skills.
- Understanding of KAIZEN, Lean Manufacturing , 5S etc.
- Basic understanding and compliance of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001 requirements.
