The incumbent supports the overall NIP Profit Plan and performance objectives. The Maintenance Manager II plans, executes, and continuously monitors the Maintenance and Capital Plans, as well as leading establishment of programs for cost and productivity improvement. The Maintenance Manager II manages and supports up to 10-15 hourly workers in the maintenance SDWT and is responsible for portions of an annual budget of up to ~$1.5M plus turn around budgets and capital projects budget\nDuties and Responsibilities (not limited to)\nLead and strongly advocate safety in all activities\nLead by example, including execution of regular safety audits, safety contacts, near miss reports, safety meetings, incident investigation, etc. Incumbent is a member of the plant safety committee\nDevelops, recommends, engineers and executes projects to expand plant production capacity, cost and quality\nLeads Facilities Engineering on large capital projects\nLead or participate in special projects as assigned\nProjects may involve work outside the Neville Island Plant\nContinuously reviews and evaluates new technology, processes, methods, and equipment for possible use\nCommunicates/ reports accomplishments, activities, issues/problems/risks, and status of projects in a monthly report\nCommunicates major exceptions and issues on an on-going and immediate basis to the Neville Island Plant Manager\nSupport NIP by ensuring safe and continuous production of finished product at established quality standards, within environmental permit requirements, and within financial constraints\nPlan, coordinate and execute facility Turnarounds that minimize cost of ownership while allowing the facility to continuously operate at or exceed, production, quality, and on-stream standards. This work must be executed within profit plan guidelines\nMaximizes quality, throughput, and yield standards by directing the maintenance teams, contractors, and maintenance functions\nAchieves continuous improvements by evaluating performance, taking corrective actions, and measuring progress\nEstablished key metrics to track performance in a balanced scorecard manner with emphasis on “leading indicators”\nMaximizes use of Total Productive Maintenance by identifying work, establishing schedules, training operators, and tracking performance\nReliability center maintenance lead\nProvide technical guidance as needed\nManages and supports the Maintenance SDWT to ensure optimum operation and function of plant facilities and equipment by focusing on true self-direction\nProvide clear direction and accountability\nAssesses and sources (in the most cost-effective manner) the technical and non-technical needs for maintenance personnel\nManages and supports the Storeroom Associate to refine and preserve the plant stores and acquisition process so that it focuses on having the right parts in the right place at the right time\nTraining for maintenance crew\nVendor management for projects related\nQualifications\nAn associate’s degree (A.A.), or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is required (Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or comparable work experience)\nA bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.), or equivalent from four-year college or university is preferred\n10+ years of experience in maintenance and/or plant /facilities engineering\nSAP experience is preferred\nAbout Calgon Carbon\nAt Calgon Carbon, we are scientific innovators with a proud legacy of over 80 years and more than 205 patents to our name.
