{"id":1291830,"url":"https://alion.io/job/califia-farms-qa-technician-3rd-shift","title":"QA Technician, 3rd Shift","company":{"id":1957892,"name":"Califia Farms","domain":"califiafarms.com","url":"https://alion.io/company/califiafarms","size_band":null,"is_staffing_agency":false,"employer_type":"direct","is_intermediary":false,"listed_via":null,"ats_vendor":"iCIMS","truth_index":null},"role":"Field & Service","role_family":"Field & Service","seniority":null,"employment_type":null,"work_mode":"on_site","remote_scope":null,"remote_scope_basis":null,"remote_working_hours":null,"hiring_geo_confidence":"structured","locations":["Bakersfield, United States"],"countries":["US"],"hiring_countries":[],"hiring_countries_total":0,"salary":{"min":21,"max":26,"currency":"USD","period":"hour","gross":null,"usd_annual":52000},"salary_estimate":null,"experience_years_min":null,"visa_sponsorship":false,"relocation_package":false,"has_equity":false,"technologies":[],"status":"live","first_seen_at":"2026-09-26T07:56:34Z","employer_posted_date":"2026-09-26","last_verified_at":"2026-11-05T04:01:56Z","board_verified":true,"closed_at":null,"days_open":40,"trust":{"level":"ok","repost_count":null,"flags":[],"days_open":40},"description":"Overview\nThe Quality Assurance Technician is responsible for executing corporate and plant specific Food Safety, Quality and Laboratory requirements.\nResponsibilities\nEnsure product quality and compliance by interpreting manufacturing and engineering requirements and developing, executing, and refining analytical testing methods and procedures.\nDevelop and maintain quality documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and QA protocols, ensuring alignment with GMP, GLP, and GDP standards for ESL and aseptic processing.\nCollaborate cross-functionally with leadership, production, and maintenance teams to optimize plant performance, improve product quality, and enhance operational efficiency and safety.\nAdminister and continuously improve the Quality Control program, ensuring products meet established food safety, regulatory, and internal quality standards.\nMonitor and achieve internal quality KPIs, maintaining accurate, audit-ready records of inspections, testing results, and compliance activities.\nEnsure strict adherence to GMP standards across production and support areas, proactively identifying and addressing compliance gaps.\nOversee sanitation and housekeeping standards within manufacturing and laboratory environments to maintain a clean, organized, and audit-compliant facility.\nDrive consistency in quality systems by enforcing established standards, policies, and best practices across all plant operations.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives by participating in and facilitating changes to processes, systems, and quality programs.\nAssist in training and onboarding of plant personnel on quality procedures, food safety practices, and regulatory requirements.\nCommunicate effectively with production teams regarding quality performance, deviations, and corrective actions to ensure timely resolution of issues.\nSafeguard company assets, including laboratory equipment and PPE, ensuring proper use, maintenance, and accountability.\nMaintain a high standard of workplace organization and cleanliness in all assigned areas.\nParticipate in required company training programs and stay current with industry regulations and best practices.\nPerform additional duties as assigned to support quality assurance objectives and overall plant operations.\nQualifications\nMust read, write and communicate in English.\nMust be able to taste all foods with no aversions or allergies.\nMust follow GMP Policy - wear company issued shirt, hat, safety glasses, earplugs and hairnet in production areas.\nAble to work under pressure in a very fast paced environment\nAble to perform root cause analysis.\nAble to communicate and work well with people on all levels of the organization.\nAble to receive, analyze and report out information efficiently.\nKnowledge of Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) - ability to follow laboratory SOPs.\nKnowledge of Good Documentation Practices (GDPs) - ability to keep proper records.\nStrong computer literacy - MS applications, databases.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong analytical skills - ability to analyze large amounts of data and determine deficiencies.\nStrong attention to detail and accuracy.\n1-2 years - Experience in food or manufacturing preferred.\nAbility to successfully complete and maintain all required equipment-specific training, certifications, and operational qualifications.\nThis position is classified as Non-Exempt (eligible for overtime). The expected hourly rate for this position is between $21.00 - $26.00 per hour based on a full-time schedule. As a 3rd shift employee, your shift differential pay is $1.00 for all hours worked during your assigned shift.
