CallRail provides call tracking and conversation analytics for marketing teams. It assigns trackable numbers to campaigns and transcribes calls to score lead quality. Agencies and small businesses use it to attribute phone conversions to specific channels.

The Position

CallRail is looking for a Vertical Marketing Manager to own our healthcare business. CallRail is a lead engagement platform: we show businesses which marketing drives their calls, forms, and chats, and with Voice Assist, our AI assistant, we help them answer, qualify, and route those leads around the clock. Healthcare organizations are one of our largest and fastest-moving markets. Think of this role as the general manager for healthcare at CallRail: you set the strategy, you own the number, and you are the person the rest of the company turns to when they need to understand this market.

You'll sit on the marketing team and do the work of a product marketer with a vertical lens: healthcare personas, positioning, and messaging, taking our overarching go-to-market narrative and verticalizing it for this market. You'll set the direction and the message, then partner with demand generation, customer marketing, and content on how it comes to life. Because the healthcare strategy runs through you, you'll also work closely with counterparts in sales, product, product marketing, and leadership - serving as the connective tissue between the market and everything we build and say. You'll decide which subverticals we go after, how we talk to them, what we need to build or partner on to win, and where to place your budget to get there.

It's a role for someone who is energized by ownership, is happiest when they know a market better than anyone else in the room, and would rather bring a plan than wait for an assignment. The mix is roughly equal parts strategy and execution: you'll build the plan, and then you'll roll up your sleeves and go run it, with cross-functional support.

What You'll Do

  • You act like an owner. Healthcare is your line of business. You know its performance, its risks, and its opportunities inside and out, and you carry the accountability that comes with it.
  • You come with a point of view. In cross-functional and leadership conversations, you represent healthcare and you say what you think. When you need something to win, you make the case, and you keep making it.
  • You look for the next thing. You don't wait for a brief. You spot the opening, size it up, and bring a recommendation.
  • You go deep. You're genuinely curious about this industry, its buyers, and the forces shaping it. You want to keep learning, testing, and refining what works.

What You'll Own

Healthcare strategy and business performance

  • Own the go-to-market strategy for CallRail's healthcare business, including which subverticals we prioritize, how we position and message to them, and the plan to hit our acquisition and revenue goals
  • Own the healthcare marketing budget and make the calls on where investment will move the needle
  • Live in the numbers that define the health of the business: customers, new MRR, churn, ARPU, and conversion rate. You should see a churn or ARPU issue before anyone else does, be digging into the "why" cross-functionally, and come back with both immediate actions and a longer-term plan
  • Track product adoption and usage alongside the revenue metrics. How healthcare customers actually use CallRail is usually the earliest signal of a retention or expansion opportunity, and you'll be the one who spots it
  • Report on healthcare performance to leadership - sales, marketing, and product usage - with the insight and executive presence to explain what's changing, what it means, and what you're doing about it

Market and competitive expertise

  • Be CallRail's subject matter expert on the healthcare market: the buyers, the workflows, the regulatory realities, the vendor landscape, and the economics of how these businesses grow
  • Own the healthcare buyer personas and the value propositions, positioning, and messaging built on them - the work that differentiates CallRail in an increasingly crowded lead engagement and AI voice market
  • Develop real depth in the specific subverticals where our opportunity is biggest, not just a broad view of "healthcare"
  • Track the competitive set continuously: who's winning, who's new, where they beat us, where we beat them, and what we should do about it. Feed that intelligence to product, sales, and leadership
  • Regularly surface the headwinds and tailwinds shaping the vertical - regulatory shifts, consolidation, reimbursement pressure, AI adoption, patient acquisition economics - and translate them into implications for our strategy
  • Validate market requirements through customer interviews, surveys, win/loss analysis, sales insight, and usage data

Cross-functional leadership

  • Serve as the hub between sales, product marketing, customer marketing, demand generation, and product development, feeding market insight into each function and making sure everyone is marching in the same direction
  • Partner with the marketing teams to test positioning and messaging with healthcare audiences, measure what actually lands, and refine from there. You'll treat messaging as something to be validated, not just written
  • Pressure-test the work happening across teams against a simple bar: does it solve a real healthcare customer pain point, strengthen our competitive position, resonate with the segment we're targeting, and drive measurable results?
  • Partner with product managers as the voice of the healthcare customer, bringing market insight that shapes the roadmap, including integrations with the systems healthcare businesses already rely on
  • Build business cases for the partnerships and integrations we need to win, with a clear view of the revenue impact
  • Recommend packaging and pricing approaches that accelerate new customer acquisition and expansion in healthcare
  • Enable sales, customer success, and support: train them on the problems we solve for healthcare buyers, and work with sales enablement to build the internal tools and external collateral they need

External presence and thought leadership

  • Be the face of CallRail in the healthcare market: conference and industry speaking engagements, webinars, panels, podcasts, etc.
  • Build relationships with the thought leaders, influencers, associations, agencies, and partners who shape this space
  • Develop the narrative that differentiates CallRail for healthcare buyers, supported by ROI proof points and positioning materials

What You'll Need

  • BS/BA and 4-6 years of experience in a strategic marketing role, with direct experience in healthcare, healthtech, or an adjacent health-related field required
  • A track record of owning a strategy end to end and being accountable for the results, not just executing someone else's plan
  • Strong analytical instincts and genuine comfort with data - you can get to the story behind the metric and build a case around it
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and the confidence and presence to represent your point of view to senior leaders and to external audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and align cross-functional partners without formal authority
  • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where you'll prioritize, make tradeoffs, and shift between strategic thinking and hands-on execution in the same day

Nice To Have

  • B2B SaaS or martech vertical, industry, or product marketing experience
  • Experience presenting at industry conferences or building a personal presence in a vertical community
  • Familiarity with healthcare marketing and patient acquisition, HIPAA-conscious marketing practices, or the healthcare technology stack (EHR, practice management, patient engagement, and CRM tools)
  • Experience building or influencing a partner and integration ecosystem

If you do not meet all the requirements listed, we still encourage you to apply! No job description is perfect, and we may also have another opportunity that aligns with your skills and experience.

  • Healthcare (one option covered at 100% for employees), Dental & Vision Coverage
  • Competitive HSA with company matching

  • 401K options with company dollar-for-dollar match
