CALNET is ISO 9001, ISO 20000, and CMMI-Level III certified\nAs a Prime Government Contractor for a major government organization in Washington DC, we are currently searching for a talented Network Engineer with Secret Clearance to work in Washington D.C\nThe Network Analyst is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, security, and sustainment of enterprise network infrastructure supporting mission-critical government systems. This role ensures secure, high-availability connectivity across LAN, WAN, data center, cloud, and hybrid environments while maintaining compliance with DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST 800-53 controls, and agency-specific cybersecurity policies.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Network Design & Architecture\nDesign and implement enterprise LAN/WAN solutions.\nDevelop network diagrams (logical/physical) and configuration documentation.\nEngineer high-availability solutions (HSRP/VRRP, failover, load balancing).\nSupport network modernization initiatives (SDN, automation, Zero Trust).\n2. Infrastructure Operations & Maintenance\nConfigure and manage routers, switches, and firewalls.\nPerform firmware upgrades, patching, and lifecycle refresh planning.\nMonitor performance using enterprise tools (SolarWinds, Splunk, NetFlow).\nTroubleshoot Layer 1-7 issues using packet capture and traffic analysis tools.\nSupport 24x7 operations and incident response.\n3. Security & Compliance\nImplement and maintain network security controls aligned with:\nDoD RMF\nNIST SP 800-53\nSTIG hardening requirements\nConfigure ACLs, VLAN segmentation, VPN tunnels, IPSec, and TLS.\nSupport firewall rule reviews and change control board (CCB) processes.\nParticipate in vulnerability scanning remediation (ACAS/Nessus).\nContribute to Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation packages.\n4. Documentation & Reporting\nMaintain network topology diagrams and IP addressing schemas.\nDevelop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).\nProvide performance metrics for contract reporting.\nSupport audits and inspections.\nRequired Qualifications\n5+ years of enterprise network engineering experience.\nExperience with Cisco routers/switches (C8200, C9300, C9500 series preferred).\nExperience with TACLANE Encryptor Operation\nSolarWinds Certified Professional - Network Performance Monitor (SCP-NPM)\nStrong understanding of:\nTCP/IP\nBGP, OSPF, EIGRP\nVLANs, NAT, DHCP, DNS\nIPSec, SSL VPN\nExperience with firewall technologies (Cisco FMC, ASA, ISE or equivalent).\nExperience supporting secure government environments.\nDoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).\nCCNA or CCNP Certification\nActive Secret clearance \nThis opportunity is in Washington DC.\nCALNET, Inc. offers a competitive salary and a generous benefits package.
