We are looking for a motivated Associate Principal Aero/Acoustics Engineer to join our team.\nThis position is on-site at our newly renovated St. Paul, MN location.\nResponsibilities\nProvide aero and acoustic design solutions, concepts, analysis, and calculations for Jet Engine Test Cells utilized in ground test facilities\nSupport sales/marketing quotations with trade-offs, analyses and recommendations for optimal and cost-effective solutions\nPartner with other team members to perform aerodynamic and acoustic field surveys of existing facilities and assist in commissioning and validating new test facilities\nPrepare technical proposals and reports as required\nPresentations at conferences or at customer sites\nQualifications\nQualifications:\nMaster’s degree in aeroacoustics, vibration, aerodynamics or related discipline\n10+ years of related experience or a combination of education and experience equivalent to above\nHands-on airflow/acoustic measurement experiences in test cell environments\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills in aero/acoustics, fluid dynamics, and statistics\nKnowledge of jet noise, vibration, infrasound, noise conversion, and compressible flows\nFamiliarity with FFTs, microphones and vibration measurement, dynamic data acquisition, computer\nsoftware skills (CFD, MATLAB, LabVIEW)\nTeam player with interpersonal skills and positive attitude.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to travel up to 30%\nBe Calspan \nAt Calspan, we want you to feel supported from day one.
