The successful candidate will forge new relationships and drive sustainable growth, leveraging Calspan’s world-class automotive testing capabilities.\nDrive growth for Calspan’s Automotive Testing Services business by identifying new opportunities, building strong customer relationships, and expanding our presence across government agencies, OEMs, automotive manufacturers, and commercial organizations. This role partners closely with customers and internal teams to develop solutions, support proposal efforts, and execute strategic sales and marketing initiatives that deliver long-term business growth. Ideal candidates have a passion for the automotive industry, strong relationship-building skills, and an interest in business development, engineering, or automotive testing.Responsibilities\nIdentify and close new business opportunities for the Test Operations groups. Work directly with major government agencies, OEM’s, automative companies and other commercial enterprises to demonstrate the value and expertise of Calspan.\nDirectly manage the designated core customer base from a retention and growth standpoint. Participate in the development of project proposals and spend the necessary time with customers to present and document the value and identify new opportunities. Develop strong working relationships with internal and external business partners.\nDevelop and relentlessly implement a strategic sales and marketing plan that clearly outlines the direction and milestones of our BD and marketing efforts for sustainable profitable growth that is alignment with our company strategic plan. Provide regular and accurate feedback for revenue/profit forecasts.\nProfessionally represent the company at various business conferences, trade shows and community events. Increase our visibility within the technical/lecture communities.\nQualifications\nEducation / Experience:\nBachelors/Masters in a business and/or engineering related discipline\n0-20 years in related discipline; in business development, sales, or related roles in automotive or transportation sectors.\nA combination of education and experience equivalent to above\nInterest in business development /sales in the automotive technology industry\nKnowledge / Ability:\nCrashworthiness test standards and protocols and vehicle dynamic\nUnderstanding of automotive testing standards especially:FMVSS test standards\nNCAP protocols and test standards\nFamiliarity with IIHS test protocols and standards\nTire testing\n\nEngineering principles, procedures and techniques\nEuropean and other foreign vehicle related test standards\nStrong engineering or technical acumen (principles, procedures, techniques)\nExperience working with automotive manufacturer’s safety group \nPrevious experience in sales/ business development\nWillingness to travel 30-40%, domestically and internationally \nBe Calspan...\nAt Calspan, we invest in our employees by providing highly affordable/ competitive benefits, 4 weeks PTO, 10 Company Holidays, onsite training, development and promotional opportunities.\nCalspan is an equal opportunity employer.
