In this role, you will maintain, and repair aircraft systems and components, as well as aircraft ground support equipment, to ensure the continued airworthiness and operational readiness of assigned aircraft. If you're passionate about aviation and want to contribute to innovative aerospace programs, we'd love to hear from you!\nResponsibilities\nResponsible for the airworthiness of assigned aircraft maintenance and modifications. Performs complex maintenance and repairs, conducts engine runs, and logbook entries. Plans and controls the maintenance of assigned aircraft as the Team Lead for maintenance and modifications. Communicates delays to management and provides daily status updates on progress and status.\nPerform Pre-Flight/Post-Flight Inspections on Learjets and any other company owned aircraft in accordance with the checklist to ensure airworthiness. Escalate identified discrepancies to management. Perform aircraft towing and marshalling safely. Service aircraft as needed. May travel up to 10% of the year to provide off-site aircraft maintenance support as the designated Crew Chief.\nLayout, fabricate, and install special modifications to the aircraft based on drawings and sketches. Will need to learn and have a basic understanding to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the Calspan Variable Stability System (VSS) and other complex in-flight research systems installed on the various aircraft. Maintain close communication with Modification team and Maintenance management in order to ensure effective and timely job completion.\nAdhere to company policy and procedure. Has an extensive understanding of aircraft forms and records and accurately fills them out and checks the work of others for quality. Observes current applicable FAA Regulations and AMMs while performing required maintenance. Will use the company's digital maintenance management tool (FlightDocs) to document maintenance.\nProvides oversight and trains and evaluates lesser experienced mechanics on basic/routine and complex tasks in accordance with the company's Maintenance Training Program on all Job Responsibilities.\nQualifications\nQualifications:\n7+ years of aircraft mechanic experience; high school diploma or equivalent required.\nFormal Aircraft Mechanic Technician training preferred; Has an A&P rating or ability to get one.\nValid driver’s license and required tools.\nAttend formal aviation maintenance training for assigned aircraft.\nSkilled at estimating project hours and materials.\nTechnically competent maintainer able to lead maintenance and train less experienced mechanics on routine through complex tasks.\nExtensive knowledge of aircraft accessories, components, hardware, mechanical systems, blueprints, work orders, task cards, AMMs, and applicable FAA regulations.\nAbility to operate precision tools, measuring devices, instruments, and aviation ground support equipment after required training/licensing.\nStrong safety, quality, housekeeping, PPE, communication, and attention-to-detail practices.\nAbility to travel at least 10% of the year.\nRelocation assistance is available for eligible candidates.\n\nAt Calspan, we want you to feel supported from day one.
