The position relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.\n\nKEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nPerform analyses per Blended Products methodology or Standard Operating Procedures on all samples submitted to lab, including but not limited to:\nAppearance (Clarity) and odor\nColor evaluation\nRefractive Index\nDensity\nDemulsibility\nSpatter / Crackle test\nFoam Sequences I, II, & III\nViscosity (Manual or Automatic by Cannon SimpleVis or CAV)\nCold Crank Viscosity\nElemental Analysis by iCAP ICP or XRF\nTAN and TBN by Autotitrator\nFTIR\nParticle Count\nBrookfield Viscosity\nFlash Point\nPour Point\n(Calumet Packaging Only) -High Temp High Shear\n(Royal Purple Only)\nLog samples into LIMS\nReport data accurately and in a timely fashion\nApprove Production, Bulk, and Blend Samples when they are within QC Specifications\nOperate and maintain instruments and equipment per written procedures\nSample raw material drums and totes\nPull and test flush tote samples\nMaintain clean laboratory glassware and surroundings\nFile and organize retain samples\nRun and Troubleshoot issues with instrument check standards\nHelp perform general instrument maintenance / repair\nOther duties as assigned\n\nREQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:\nCollege degree or minimum 6 months industrial lab experience\nMust read, write, and speak English\nComfortable with metric system, calculations, and unit conversions\nFlexible and adaptable in ever-changing work environment\n\nCOMPETENCIES:\nAble to communicate effectively with all levels of management.\nStrong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office.\nMust be able to identify problems and propose solutions.\nDemonstration of Calumet Values – Safety,
