We are proud of having cities like Oslo, London, Washington, Singapore, and Sydney among our clients.\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior / Principal Engineer to lead our mechanical engineering function, delivering high-quality technical solutions that meet customer requirements, project objectives, and industry standards.\nAs a Senior / Principal Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across complex engineering projects, acting as a key point of contact for customers and internal stakeholders. You will play a critical role in driving engineering excellence, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, safety, and quality.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineering professional who enjoys leading teams, mentoring others, and solving complex engineering challenges within a highly regulated industry environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead and manage mechanical engineering teams in the successful delivery of complex engineering projects.\n\nProvide technical leadership and oversight to ensure high-quality engineering solutions are delivered on time and to specification.\n\nCoach, mentor, and develop engineers, supporting their technical growth and professional development.\n\nAct as a primary technical liaison for customers and internal stakeholders, building strong relationships and maintaining effective communication throughout project lifecycles.\n\nReview, approve, and sign off engineering calculations, specifications, design packages, and technical reports.\n\nEnsure all engineering activities comply with relevant legislation, industry regulations, codes, and standards.\n\nSupport customer engagement activities, technical discussions, issue resolution, and business development initiatives.\n\nApply advanced engineering expertise to resolve complex mechanical and structural challenges.\n\nDrive continuous improvement of engineering processes, procedures, standards, and systems.\n\nPromote the highest standards of safety, quality, technical integrity, and operational performance across all projects.\n\nWe Are Looking For\nA proven engineering leader with the ability to lead teams and deliver complex technical projects.\n\nStrong experience in mechanical design within a regulated industry environment.\n\nA collaborative professional who can build effective relationships with customers, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.\n\nAn individual who thrives on solving complex engineering problems and delivering practical, innovative solutions.\n\nA mentor and coach who is passionate about developing engineering talent and promoting best practices.\n\nSomeone with excellent communication skills and the ability to present technical information clearly and effectively.\n\nWastewater industry experience would be advantageous but is not essential. We welcome applications from candidates working in any regulated industry sector.\nKey Qualifications and Requirements\nEssential\nDegree in Engineering (or equivalent) within a relevant discipline.\n\nChartered Engineer (CEng) status.\n\nSignificant and demonstrable experience delivering mechanical design solutions within a process plant or regulated industry environment.\n\nProven experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex technical projects to time, cost, and quality requirements.\n\nStrong knowledge of BS, EN, AISC, ASTM, ASME and other relevant engineering codes and standards.\n\nSound understanding of engineering mechanics and static/dynamic structural behaviour.\n\nExperience producing, reviewing, and approving detailed engineering deliverables, including calculations, specifications, and technical reports.\n\nExperience developing and maintaining engineering procedures, standards, and systems.\n\nStrong customer-facing experience, including technical support, issue resolution, and stakeholder management.\n\nBroad technical knowledge of mechanical equipment, technologies, and engineering principles.\n\nTechnical Skills\nProficiency in structural engineering software, including STAAD.Pro.\n\nExperience using SolidWorks Simulation or equivalent FEA software for modelling and analysis.\n\nStrong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.\n\nExperience working to EN and ASME Codes, particularly relating to vessels and piping.\n\nPersonal Attributes\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.\n\nStrong attention to detail and commitment to quality.\n\nLogical and methodical approach to work.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English.\n\nAbility to influence, motivate, and inspire engineering teams to achieve outstanding results.\n\nAt Cambi, we value people who share our commitment to the environment and the positive impact of the circular economy.
