Join our Data & Analytics Engineering team as a Senior Engineer, supporting the technology solutions and data processes that enable HEDIS and healthcare quality measurement.\nAs a Data Platform Engineer III, you will participate in a cross-team environment for the delivery and maintenance of application systems. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing, programming, debugging, building, deploying, testing, and documentation of applications in development and production environments, as well as database design and system testing and documentation. Then this role may be the perfect fit.\nWhat You Bring to Cambia:\nQualifications:\nThe Data Platform Engineer III would have:\nA Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field and at least 5 years relevant experience in a multi-platform environment.\nExperience developing, testing, deploying, and supporting production software or data solutions.\nExperience independently troubleshooting complex application and data-processing problems.\nExperience working with sensitive, regulated, or business-critical data.\nHealthcare industry experience is preferred; experience with HEDIS, healthcare quality measurement, claims, membership, provider, or clinical data is strongly preferred.\nSkills and Attributes:\nStrong SQL skills and demonstrated ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex data issues-data analysis and problem solving are key aspects of this role.\nDevelopment experience with modern data warehouse platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, BiqQuery); experience building data pipelines, ETL/ELT processes, data integration, and data quality automation.\nExperience with Python for data engineering and application development purposes.\nExperience with source control, testing, deployment, CI/CD, and modern software development lifecycle practices.\nAbility to independently develop efficient, secure, and maintainable code and technical solutions for complex business problems.\nAbility to profile data and assess keys, relationships, cardinality, data types, precision, scale, and quality.\nDocumentation and communication skills.\nAbility to balance planned engineering work with production-support responsibilities and collaborate effectively across technical and business teams.\nCommitment to continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and the development of reusable engineering practices.\nComfortable working in a remote and/or distributed team environment, and proficient in asynchronous communication tools such as Microsoft Teams or Slack.\nAble to take direction, in analyzing and solving program and system issues.\nAble to plan and manage their own work.\nFamiliar with Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior Driven Development (BDD) including unit and behavior test creation.\nFollows corporate and departmental coding standards and guidelines.\nAble to learn containerization technologies and orchestration tools.\nApplies software security best practices.\nFamiliarity with defensive programming, OWASP top 10 to mitigate injection vulnerabilities, cross-site scripting (XSS), server side request forgery (SSRF). Familiar with authentication principles, security hygiene and data stewardship.\nAble to mentor and coach other junior team members in technical matters.\nPreferred Skills:\nSnowflake; SQL and SQL/Python stored procedures.\ndbt or comparable ETL/ELT tools.\nOrchestration tools such as Airflow.\nProduction monitoring, logging, or observability tools.\nExperience using AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude, GitHub Copilot, Snowflake Cortex Code).\nFamiliarity with HEDIS measure specifications (numerator, denominator, exclusions, continuous enrollment) and experience interpreting NCQA technical specifications to support accurate measure logic.\nWorking knowledge of claims, enrollment, pharmacy, and provider data in a quality measurement context, including attribution and claims runout.\nWhat You Will Do at Cambia:\nDevelop, enhance, test, deploy, and maintain complex software and data solutions that support business processes and objectives.\nProvide engineering and production support for applications, data pipelines, integrations, and processes supporting HEDIS and healthcare quality measurement.\nResearch, troubleshoot, and perform root-cause analysis of complex application, data, performance, and processing issues; implement sustainable solutions that improve reliability and reduce recurrence.\nContinuously seeks to improve job skills. Actively participates in the company's learning environment.\nMeets established deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and security in their output.\nDevelop and execute unit and system test plans, test cases, test criteria, and test data; document results and validate solutions prior to production implementation.\nDevelop innovative solutions to problems.\nUnderstands and participates in deliverables required by approved Software Development Lifecycles.\nDetermines program design and prepares work estimates for development or changes for assigned work.\nTakes initiative and seeks out work.\nPractices software security best practices.\nAdheres to policies, procedures, and standards in place within IT/Engineering and all corporate policies, procedures and standards created by Cambia. Those include, but are not limited to, technical and architecture standards, production implementation standards, regular status reporting, regular participation in team, regular one on one meetings with Lead or Manager, and providing work estimates and regular time tracking.\nExpected deliverables include requirement analysis, system analysis, system design, data models, program design, source code development, unit test case development, unit and system testing, and documentation.\n May be responsible for on-call duties as defined by management.\nPay ranges vary based on the candidate's work location. The expected hiring range depends on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; and performance history.\nNational pay structure - applies to the Boise and Lewiston, ID; Salt Lake City, UT, Oregon and Washington. The full salary range is $105,000 - $172,000 and the bonus target is 10%. The expected salary range is $112,000 - $151,000/year. \nRegional pay structure - applies to North Dakota and Idaho and Utah locations outside the metro areas listed above: The full salary range is $95,000 - $155,000 and the bonus target is 10%.
