Start a career where You Matter by applying today!\nOverview:\nAs an Associate Engineer at Cambrex, you’ll launch your career in chemical engineering with the support of highly experienced engineers and scientists who are eager to mentor and guide you. In this role, you’ll be immersed in every stage of bringing new products from the laboratory to full-scale manufacturing, gaining hands-on experience with batch processes and unit operations such as reactions, distillation, extraction, filtration, and drying. Under supervision of the department manager, the Associate Engineer will rotate through several key engineering roles such as Process, Production, Validation, Project, Environmental and Reliability in an approximate two-year period. The purpose of the Associate Engineer position is to provide recent college graduates with the opportunity to gain a broad overview of the core functions that are critical to the manufacturing and engineering support functions at Cambrex.\nResponsibilities:\nProcess Engineering (6 -12 months)\nPerform scaling calculations for unit operations, assisting with the conceptual process design.\nParticipate in process reviews for operability, safety, and quality.\nSupport production campaigns through in-person observation.\nAnalyze production and laboratory data to assist with process understanding.\nAssist with quality investigations and corrective action / preventative action implementation.\nSupport process improvement projects to reduce cycle time, increase yield, and improve quality.\nDraft manufacturing documents: process flow diagrams, batch records, validation protocols, standard operating procedures, quality investigations, campaign reports.\n\nEnvironmental Engineering(3 - 6 months)Special projects\n\nProduction/Operations Engineering (6 - 9 months)Revise Standard Operating Procedures\nTroubleshoot operating processes\nUpdate and revise batch records and process set-ups\nWork on process yield or quality improvement projects\nUsing TrackWise perform CAPAs, change controls, process investigations\nImplement small capital projects\n\nReliability Engineering(~3 months)Become familiar with maintenance systems such as calibrations, PM programs, maintenance planning, maintenance supervision, contractor performed maintenance repairs, capital work completed with internal maintenance labor, and maintenance spare parts inventory.\n\nValidation Engineering (3-6 months)Develop and perform EQ, FQ, IQ, and OQ protocols and reports\nOversee equipment validation and revalidation\n\nProject Engineering (6 - 9 months)Responsible for overseeing small capital projects and/or Safety Card projects\n\nQualifications / Skills:\nApplied Math and Science : A strong understanding of the core chemical engineering fundamentals (thermodynamics, heat transfer, mass transfer, transport, kinetics, etc.).\nData Analysis, Visualization, Troubleshooting: The ability to analyze data from various sources, including sensors and experiments, to identify trends, troubleshoot issues, and improve efficiency.\nProblem-Solving: With training and support from senior engineers, identify, analyze, and solve complex problems related to chemical processes and plant operations.
