Systems, LLC, based out of Orange, CA is a stainless-steel fabrication company known for their food service solutions for K-12 schools.\nSUMMARY\nThe Shear Operator I is responsible for the production of sheet metal parts through the operation of a shear. They are tasked with the accurate and efficient processing of various sheet metal parts, while ensuring safety and adhering to the required quality standards.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\nSet up and operate mechanical shear to cut stainless steel, mild steel, and other sheet metal to specified dimensions.\nReads and interprets technical drawings to understand desired dimensions of the metal pieces\nMeasure and lay out material accurately using tape measures, and other measuring tools.\nVerify material type, gauge/thickness, dimensions, and grain direction before cutting.\nPosition, align, and feed sheet metal into the shear while following established machine-safety procedures.\nPerform accurate cuts while minimizing scratches, dents, and other damage to stainless-steel surfaces.\nCycle the press and detect malfunctions in machine equipment, such as worn or damaged blades. \nInspects finished pieces to ensure they meet the required specifications and quality standards.\nIdentifies and reports minor issues with the machine.\nCoordinate with fabrication, press brake, laser/punch, welding, and other production employees to keep work flowing through the manufacturing process.\nMaintains reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, dependable, and flexible to potential schedule changes to meet the needs of the department and the organization.\nExecutes each essential duty satisfactorily to perform job successfully.\nFollows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.\nPerforms effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect.\nTakes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.\nFollows all department quality standards/criteria.
