This role providestechnical leadership acrossmodel fine-tuning, RAG and system integrations,while mentoring developers and partneringwith architects and business teams to deliver secure, responsibleAI solutions that create business value.\nIn this role, you will:\nAct as the technical leader for assigned AI solutions, coordinating development decisions, technical dependencies, quality controls and production readiness.\nLead the design, development and delivery of advanced AI solutions and agentic applications on Cameco's AI platforms.\nOwn complex technical work involving model fine-tuning, retrieval-augmented generation pipelines, vectorization of corporate data and hybrid search.\nDefine and promote reusable workflows, coding standards, development patterns and best practices for the developer community.\nProvide technical guidance, reusable patterns and code-review support to AI Developers and other approved contributors to Cameco’s AI solutions.\nDefine evaluation approaches and acceptance criteria for model outputs, retrieval quality, agent behaviour, security, reliability and production readiness.\nDefine safe design patterns for agent permissions, tool use, human approvals, auditability and recovery from failed or unintended actions.\nPartner with platform, DevSecOps and agentic AI architects to shape solution designs and ensure components integrate effectively.\nEmbed security, privacy and responsible AI controls into solutions in accordance with Cameco's AI governance framework.\nLead troubleshooting, performance tuning and production support for critical AI capabilities.\nTranslate business use cases into technical designs and provide effort estimates, risk considerations and technical recommendations.\nEvaluate development frameworks, models and solution patterns and recommend where they should be adopted, standardized or avoided.\nRequired:\nbachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, data science, or related field; \nminimum eight years experience of software development experience, including significant hands-on AI/ML solution delivery; \nequivalent combination of education and work experience considered; \ndemonstrated experience with model fine-tuning, RAG, and integrating AI into enterprise applications;\nexperience providing technical leadership or mentorship on development teams; and \nexperience integrating AI solutions with enterprise applications, APIs and cloud and on-premise data sources. \nRecommended:\nexperience building or integrating applications in a containerized/cloud-native environment;\nfamiliarity with responsible-AI, security, or regulated-industry practices; \nstrong experience with Red Hat OpenShift, OpenShift AI, Kubernetes, containers and supporting operators;\nexperience with GCP/BigQuery, Microsoft 365 and on-premise file shares;\nknowledge of identity, access, network and data security controls applied to AI platforms; and\nexperience delivering solutions in regulated or security-sensitive environments.\nConditions of Employment:\nbackground check.\nCameco is proud to offer a competitive total reward package which includes:\ncompetitive compensation program with base and variable pay;\nflexible health, drug, dental, and vision plan with a health spending and personal spending account;\nfixed benefits including employee and dependant life, AD&D, disability benefits and paid vacation leave;\nEmployee and Family Assistance Programs;\nRRSP and RPP matching program;\ncareer development opportunities; and\nrelocation costs.\nCameco is an employment equity employer and aims to achieve gender parity, and as such, preference will be given to qualified members of equity groups.
