Utilities around the world rely on our nuclear fuel products to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco’s corporate office is based in Saskatoon. We have mining operations and projects in northern Saskatchewan, Kazakhstan, the United States and Australia. We are also a leading supplier of uranium refining, conversion, and fuel manufacturing services from our operations in Ontario.\nThe Role\nJoin our operational technology and research (OTR) team within the Technical Services department and work from our Saskatoon office to support uranium mining, milling, refining, and fuel services operations.\nIn this role, you will:\nAssist with the development and implementation of technology-driven projects and initiatives focused on automation and AI. \nAssist with preparation of project management plans and technical documentation. \nSupport OT&R senior engineers with technical assignments involving OT systems and data platforms such as AVEVA PI, process control and automation, OT governance and standards, and the assessment and deployment of emerging technologies. \nPerform other duties including computer programming and engineering design, as assigned.\nRequired:\nCurrently in your third or fourth year of a university program in electrical engineering, computer engineering/science or a related field;\nmust be returning to school for the academic semester following your work term; \nstrong communication and interpersonal skills; and\nability to travel occasionally to operations, including northern Saskatchewan and Ontario.\nRecommended:\nPrevious experience working with industrial/research projects;\nproficient with Microsoft Office suite;\nexperience using programming tools, such as C/C++ or Python; and \nfamiliar with design and simulation tools, such as Autodesk suite or SolidWorks.\nConditions of Employment:\nPre-employment substance test.\nCameco is an employment equity employer and aims to achieve gender parity, and as such, preference will be given to qualified members of equity groups.
