We are also a leading supplier of uranium refining, conversion, and fuel manufacturing services from our operations in Ontario.\nThe Role\nCameco is looking for a student who is passionate about IT security to work with a group of talented and dedicated individuals to ensure our global IT systems are secure and controlled. Reporting to the Manager, IT Security and Risk, you will play a critical role in contributing to the success of the business technology services (BTS) department and their goal to provide technological solutions that maximize business value while minimizing risk.\nIn this role, you will:\nSupport the implementation of Cameco’s information security program and promote IT security awareness.\nAssist with investigating IT security incidents and monitoring systems for unauthorized activity or external threats.\nSupport security configuration reviews to help ensure systems meet established security requirements.\nContribute to security projects and process improvements.\nRequired:\nyou are a third- or fourth-year university student currently enrolled in computer science or a related program; and\nyou must be returning to school for the academic semester following your work term with Cameco.\nRecommended:\nbasic understanding of computer networks and IT security principles;\nexposure to or interest in learning cybersecurity tools, risk management and governance;\nfamiliarity with system administration and managing user access; and\nability to learn new skills quickly and work collaboratively in a team environment.\nConditions of Employment:\npre-employment background check.\nCameco is an employment equity employer and aims to achieve gender parity, and as such, preference will be given to qualified members of equity groups.
