The uranium milled at Key Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.\nThe Role\nThe student, lab technologist positions reside in the Key Lake chem lab, under technical services and directly reports to the laboratory supervisor.\nIn this role, you will:\nBe responsible for day-to-day analysis of laboratory samples by wet chemistry and instrumental methods.\nParticipate in quality assurance and quality control activities within the lab operation and assist with corrective and preventative action planning and implementation.\nPerform basic maintenance of analytical instrumentation in the lab and work on daily operational and data analysis.\nRequired:\nyou are a third- or fourth-yearuniversity student currently enrolled in Chemistry or a second-year chemical technology student;\neffective communication, analytical and interpersonal skills;\ndemonstrate resolute attitude towards safety;\ncoachable, open to feedback and a team player; \nwork a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft; and\nyou must be returning to school for the academic semester following your work term with Cameco.\nRecommended:\nexperience or familiar with XRF, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GC, and other analytical instrumentation; and\nexperience or familiar with Microsoft Suite and SAP LIMS.\nConditions of Employment:\nSubstance test.\nCameco is an employment equity employer and aims to achieve gender parity, and as such, preference will be given to qualified members of equity groups.
