As of now, Camlin operates in over 20 countries worldwide.\nMechanical Project Engineer\nThe successful candidate will join a highly skilled and dedicated team committed to customer satisfaction in the supply and implementation of high quality, efficient High Voltage monitoring solutions.\nCustomer Projects Engineer within the Engineering Solutions Department, deliver cost-effective detailed mechanical design solutions for customer specific asset requirements, to the agreed technical specifications, timescales, and budgets.\nKey roles, responsibilities and behaviours include:\nCustomer and site requirements capture - Collect, interpret, and translate customer, site-specific, and project requirements into effective engineering solutions.\nCustomer-centric project delivery - Ensure the customer is always put first, delivering professionally executed, safe, and successful projects that meet or exceed expectations.\nEngineering design development - Develop, evaluate, and customise customer-specific mechanical and HV designs in compliance with industry standards, regulations, and internal engineering processes.\nComponent specification and selection - Support the selection and specification of mechanical components aligned with technical tender requirements, safety standards, and mechanical integrity.\nHigh-quality engineering documentation - Produce accurate, detailed engineering drawings (parts, assemblies, wiring, cables, layouts) and maintain technical specification documents, checklists, and manuals.\nBespoke mechanical design - Design mechanically sound custom components, ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance.\nDesign change management - Identify, assess, and implement design modifications driven by customer, site, or project needs, following formal engineering change processes.\nInstallation, commissioning, and field support - Apply site awareness and field considerations to improve installation and commissioning efficiency and support on-site troubleshooting when required.\nTesting, verification, and maintenance support - Create, maintain, and support test procedures, maintenance instructions, and verification tools in collaboration with HV training and technical specialists.\nCross-functional collaboration - Liaise with Customers, partners, commercial, and internal service departments to ensure coordinated successful delivery of projects and customer requirements.\nSelf-management - Manage workload, keep stakeholders informed of progress and schedules, raising challenges early.\nProject communication - Produce technical proposals, reports, and plans as required.\nContinuous improvement and professional development - Support continuous improvement initiatives, provide specialist customer support for HV products, travel as required for on-site learning, and undertake additional duties aligned with the role.\nAdditional tasks as directed from management commensurate to the role.\nBehaviours:\nDemonstrates strong mechanical engineering expertise, earning trust by providing clear technical direction, making sound decisions, and engaging positively with the wider team through complex bespoke design challenges\nActively participating in learning and continuous improvement while providing constructive feedback and a drive for development opportunities.\nMaintains a strong customer orientation, managing expectations transparently and ensuring professionalism, quality, and attention to detail throughout all interactions and deliveries.\nBuilds strong working relationships across regions, encouraging knowledge sharing, consistency, and alignment rather than local optimisation.\nMaintaining a “right first-time” culture in approach to tasks.\nShows visible commitment to Health & Safety through actions, not just words.\nDemonstrates integrity and ethical behaviour in all interactions.\nWhat you will need to succeed:\nA minimum 2:1 degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.\nExperience using Solid-Edge or similar CAD packages, including creating 2D technical drawings.\nA strong understanding of key engineering principles.\nSound knowledge of mechanical engineering design, able to identify optimum technical and pragmatic solutions under time constraints.\nStrong technical and problem-solving skills, and ability to design cost effective solutions from specifications against set timelines and targets.\nExcellent communication and presentation skills, attention to detail and ability to work positively in multi-disciplinary teams.\nEagerness to learn and develop within a professional engineering environment.\nGood communication and teamwork abilities. \nWhy Join Us?\nBe part of a dedicated team that values quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
