the energy domain.\nIn this role, you will work at the intersection of domain expertise, data, and advanced analytics, guiding discovery efforts that lead to solutions such as diagnostic models, algorithms, and data products.\nYou will be responsible for ensuring that the right problems are identified, framed, and solved, and that decisions are made based on evidence.\nWhat makes this role unique:\nYou will work on real-world, high-impact industrial analytics\nYou will shape how data and AI are applied, not just implement them\nYou will influence both discovery and product direction\nWhat you'll do:\nWork with business stakeholders to define high-impact analytical challenges related to the energy sector (e.g. assets monitoring systems, predictive systems)\nTranslate domain challenges into structured problem frames\nEnsure analytical questions are clearly scoped and aligned with business priorities\nEnsure analyses, experiments, and models are focused on answering the core question\nChallenge assumptions and avoid premature solutioning\nDefine success criteria and evaluation frameworks\nAssess results from analytics, models, and experiments to validate they drive the expected value\nIdentify when initial problem framing is not feasible or not delivering value, and reframe it into achievable and valuable analytical questions\nEnsure conclusions are robust, interpretable, and actionable\nWhat you'll need:\nA degree in engineering, physics, math, or related fields.\nExperience working on data-driven insights where problem definition, evaluation, and decision-making were key responsibilities\nExperience in data-driven decision making\nExperience in analytics, modeling, or diagnostics\nExperience in product or technical problem definition that aligns to clear business value\nStrong problem structuring and analytical thinking\nAbility to work with uncertain and incomplete information\nExperience defining metrics and evaluation frameworks to ensure business value and stakeholders alignment\nAbility to communicate complex concepts clearly to different audiences\nComfortable working with data teams (no need to code, but technical fluency is expected)\nAbility to make decisions and recommendations under uncertainty\nNice to have:\nExperience in energy, utilities, or industrial assets\nFamiliarity with machine learning or statistical modeling\nWhat success looks like:\nProblems and success criteria are clearly defined and aligned with business needs\nThe value of solutions is measurable and clearly communicated through agreed
