This is an excellent opportunity for a recent PhD graduate with a strong background in neuroscience or a related discipline who is interested in applying functional neuroscience approaches to drug discovery. A primary responsibility of this role will be to develop and establish functional and phenotypic assays in human iPSC-derived neuronal models to support target validation and characterize the activity of candidate ASOs. The successful candidate will apply approaches such as multielectrode array (MEA), calcium imaging, and high-content imaging to characterize disease-relevant neuronal phenotypes and to evaluate rescue by candidate ASO.\nThe Scientist will work closely with members of the Discovery team as well as cross-functional colleagues in Platform, Chemistry, Preclinical and Data Science. We are looking for a curious, rigorous, and collaborative Scientist who enjoys developing new experimental approaches and translating biological questions into robust cellular assays.\nKey Responsibilities:\nDevelop, optimize, and implement functional and phenotypic assays in human iPSC-derived neurons, including multielectrode array (MEA), calcium imaging, and high-content imaging.\nEstablish disease-relevant neuronal phenotypes in patient iPSC-derived neurons and evaluate functional responses to candidate ASOs.\nDesign and execute experiments supporting target validation though candidate selection across CNS discovery programs.\nDevelop cellular and biochemical assays to assess target engagement and downstream biological effects of ASOs.\nAnalyze, interpret, and communicate experimental results to project teams and broader scientific audiences.\nCollaborate with cross-functional scientists to integrate functional assay results with molecular, genomic, and pharmacological data to drive project advancement to key go/no-go decisions.\nMaintain accurate and detailed experimental records to support regulatory documentation of candidate ASOs.\nQualifications:\nEducation & Experience\nPhD in neuroscience, molecular biology, cell biology, or a related discipline with 0-3 years of post-degree experience.\nSkills & Competencies\nHands-on experience with neuronal functional or phenotypic assays, with experience in one or more of the following strongly preferred: multielectrode array (MEA), calcium imaging, and high-content imaging.\nStrong mammalian cell culture skills; experience with human iPSC-derived neurons, primary neurons, or other neuronal culture systems is highly desirable.\nExperience with immunofluorescence, microscopy, and quantitative analysis of cellular phenotypes.\nAbility to independently design, execute, troubleshoot, and interpret experiments.\nStrong quantitative and analytical skills to generate decision-enabling data packages.\nExcellent organizational and communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, and multidisciplinary environment.\nScientific curiosity, rigor, attention to detail, and enthusiasm for translating fundamental neuroscience into therapeutic discovery.\nCompensation and Benefits:\nAt CAMP4 Therapeutics, we offer a competitive and thoughtfully designed total rewards program. The anticipated salary range for this role is $125,000 - $150,000. Base salary offered is determined through an analytical approach utilizing a combination of factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills & experience, job location, and internal equity. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible to receive an annual bonus and equity incentive opportunities.\nOur benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance; life and disability coverage; paid parental leave; a 401(k) plan with company contribution; Employee Stock Purchase Program, Trek Time (flexible time off); tuition assistance; and additional perks that support your well-being and professional growth.\nAbout CAMP4:\nCAMP4 is developing disease-modifying treatments for a broad range of genetic diseases where amplifying healthy protein may offer therapeutic benefits. Our approach amplifies mRNA by harnessing a fundamental mechanism of how genes are controlled. To amplify mRNA, our therapeutic ASO drug candidates target regulatory RNAs (regRNAs), which act locally on transcription factors and are the master regulators of gene expression. CAMP4’s proprietary RAPTM Platform enables the mapping of regRNAs and design of optimal chemistry to generate potent therapeutic candidates to address hundreds of genetic diseases across multiple tissues.
