About the Role:
Hi there! We're hiring a Senior Data Engineer to join our team.
We’re an AI native team and the data roles on our team are converging. In the past few years, we’ve built an AI native data platform and are looking for someone to build out several functions. This will include custom pipelined, CI/CD processes, and actively shaping our data landscape. Our team's mission is to champion effective data acquisition, storage, processing, and utilization, fostering a culture of data stewardship and continuous improvement.
As a team member, you will lead architectural improvements to the data infrastructure, work with teams across Camunda, and ensure the optimization of query design and performance. Your role extends to building monitoring infrastructure for data pipelines, implementing best practices in DataOps, and fostering a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be an AI native data engineer with ML experience.
What you'll be doing:
Work with different producers to build the pipelines that bring data from source systems into the warehouse
Manage parts of the warehouse and orchestrate the transformation layer
Build and productionize ML models; the feature and training pipelines, serving/inference and monitoring behind them
Lead architectural enhancements to the data infrastructure to optimize data warehouse performance for efficiency and scalability.
Independently ship large-scale data products
Enhance CI/CD processes with a focus on data quality testing
Drive continuous improvement in product quality, security, and performance
What you bring:
Ability and/or willingness to use Camunda’s product
5+ years of Data Engineering or ML experience
Strong data modeling skills and several years of experience with dbt.
Ownership mindset: we’re a small team and proud of our accomplishments
Experience in deploying, operating, and evolving data pipelines in the cloud (batching and streaming)
Knowledge of Infrastructure as code tools such as Tarraform
Strong communication skills, enjoys sharing knowledge and learning collaboratively
Passion for clean code, adept at writing automated tests to maintain codebase quality and product excellence

Compensation
We offer competitive, fair, and transparent compensation. Salary ranges are location-based, with Standard and Major markets (global tech hubs) reflecting local competition.
The Annual Total Target Cash (base salary + 100% variable target, where applicable) shown below spans from the minimum in a Standard market to the maximum in a Major market. Final offers depend on skills, experience, and location, and we typically hire in the first half of the range to allow room for growth:
United States: $143,800.00 to $231,900.00
United Kingdom: £90,300.00 to £148,500.00
Singapore: S$178,600.00 to S$267,900.00
If you’re based elsewhere, you’ll be hired via Remote.com (our global employer partner), and your Talent Acquisition Partner will provide a personalized Total Rewards Calculator after your first interview.
