Human Resources Specialist

As a Human Resources Specialist at C.A. Murren, you will be considered the trusted guide employees turn to when navigating one of the most personal and confusing parts of their job, their health benefits. At your best, you are a translator of complex information into plain, reassuring language, and a steady resource during a major shift in how our people access care. You protect our employees' peace of mind and the company's ability to sustainably support them, and you cannot do one without the other. If you want a career where you are the calm, knowledgeable voice guiding people through change, this is the position for you!

C.A. Murren is transitioning from a traditional group health plan to an ICHRA (Individual Coverage Health Reimbursement Arrangement) model, where employees select their own coverage on the open private marketplace using a company-provided stipend. The ideal candidate has managed employee health benefits extensively and can speak fluently about plan mechanics with employees at every level. This person must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, must have excellent attention to detail, is able to work independently with little or no supervision, and enjoys the challenge of educating a diverse workforce. Key Responsibilities:

  • Serves as the company's subject matter expert on ICHRA structure, stipend allocation, and marketplace enrollment
  • Administers the ICHRA program on an ongoing basis, spousal, and dependent coverage tiers
  • Additionally administers all group ancillary benefits and maintains on an ongoing basis
  • Runs individual benefits consultations with new hires and existing employees, replacing recruiter-led benefits conversations
  • Walks employees through benefit options, explaining plan options across carriers.
  • Explains out-of-pocket maximums, Tier 1 versus Tier 2 drug coverage, HSA versus FSA options, and co-pay structures across a wide range of plan types
  • Organizes annual open enrollment communications and election process
  • Assists with maintaining compliance with ICHRA regulations, IRS affordability requirements, and applicable federal, state, and local benefits law
  • Acts as the trusted resource for employees, supervisors, and managers on all benefits-related questions
  • Maintains accurate benefits enrollment and stipend data across multiple spreadsheets and systems
  • Produces regular benefits reporting and analytics for the HR Manager and Director of People Operations
  • 70% Benefits administration and other 30% other HR functions.
  • Follows all company policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Operates ethically to protect the assets and image of the company
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as per business needs

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of HR experience, including significant hands-on work managing employee health benefits
  • Strong working knowledge of health plan mechanics: deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums, drug tiers, HSA/FSA distinctions, co-pay structures
  • ICHRA or individual marketplace benefits experience strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, follow-up, problem solving, and creative thinking skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multi-task with attention to detail
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-motivated, team player with excellent people skills
  • High level of discretion with confidential material

Requirements:
