This position combines security responsibilities with hospitality and guest service. The Floor Host assists guests and hotel departments, monitors activity throughout the property, enforces hotel policies professionally, and responds to incidents or concerns as needed.\nPrimary Responsibilities\nConduct regular patrols of the hotel, including guest-room floors, hallways, stairwells, lobby, restaurants and lounges, event spaces, entrances, waterpark areas, and exterior areas.\nMaintain a visible and professional presence throughout the property.\nAssist guests with directions, questions, room deliveries, towels, and other reasonable requests.\nRespond promptly and professionally to noise complaints, disturbances, suspicious activity, safety concerns, and policy violations.\nEnforce quiet hours, alcohol policies, age restrictions, and other hotel rules consistently.\nCheck identification when required and assist restaurant or lounge staff with denying entry or service when appropriate.\nMonitor bars and public areas for outside alcohol, intoxicated individuals, disruptive conduct, and unsafe behavior.\nUse calm, respectful communication and de-escalation techniques when handling difficult or upset guests.\nProvide guests with a clear warning when policies are violated and document repeated violations.\nContact management or law enforcement when a guest refuses to comply, presents a safety concern, or must be removed from the property.\nSecurity employees do not carry restraints and are not expected to use physical force.\nCommunicate incidents and concerns promptly to the Front Desk, management, restaurant staff, and other affected departments.\nComplete accurate and detailed incident reports before the end of the shift.\nAssist during emergencies, evacuations, fire alarms, medical situations, and other safety-related events.\nMonitor entrances and conduct exterior or parking-lot checks when operationally necessary.\nAssist with crowd control and guest flow during football games, hockey tournaments, concerts, weddings, and other major events.\nProtect hotel property and report damage, maintenance concerns, unsecured doors, lighting problems, or other hazards.\nMaintain confidentiality regarding guests, employees, incidents, and hotel operations.\nPerform other reasonable duties assigned by management.\nTypical Noise-Complaint Procedure\nRespond to the location and professionally advise the guest of the complaint and hotel quiet-hours policy.\nProvide a clear warning and request immediate cooperation.\nReturn if a second complaint is received and advise the guest that further disturbance may result in removal.\nContact management and law enforcement when removal becomes necessary.\nDocument the incident and all actions taken.\nQualifications and Expectations\nPrevious experience in security, hospitality, customer service, corrections, law enforcement, healthcare, restaurants, or a related field is preferred.\nStrong communication, judgment, observation, and conflict-resolution skills.\nAbility to remain calm and professional during stressful or confrontational situations.\nDependable, punctual, and able to work independently.\nComfortable enforcing policies fairly and consistently.\nAble to prepare clear written incident reports.\nAble to work evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, holidays, and special-event dates.\nMust be able to stand and walk for extended periods and regularly patrol multiple floors and areas of the property.\nTypical Shifts\nEvening Shift: 2:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.\nOvernight Shift: 10:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m.\nThe Hotel Security / Floor Host is expected to balance safety and policy enforcement with Canad Inns' commitment to providing guests with friendly, professional, and helpful service.\nOur benefits to support your success:\nEmployee Canadvantage Rewards Program.\nEmployee Discounts, including meal, room rates, and more!\nEducational Scholarships and financial assistance.\nEmployee Events including Staff BBQs, Holiday Parties, Sporting Events, Contests, Prize Draws and more!\nAbout Canad Inns:\nCanad Inns is Manitoba's premier Hospitality Service Provider, with a presence in Winnipeg, Brandon, Portage la Prairie, and Grand Forks.
