And, at times, provide annual financial reports to clients about their plan.\nThe Underwriting Analyst supports Group Underwriters by compiling information from various systems/reports into renewal analysis tools and financial report tools, plus manual rate calculations and maintenance of the premium rates on Canada Life billing systems. They perform validation of the information gathered and deliver final output to the Underwriter.\nWhat you will do:\nManual Rate Calculations and Premium Rate Coding:\nReview employee data received from the Plan Sponsor for reasonableness and accuracy then manipulate it for import into the ARC tool\n\nCalculate manual rates at renewal and for options/costings, performing analysis on the change in a group’s manual rate year over year\n\nRenewal and Financial Preparation:\nReview premium, claims, rates, and reserves for accuracy and reasonableness\nIdentify erroneous data and coordinate with partner departments to fix the data\nCreate the renewal analyses, rate exhibits and listings that are part of the package delivered to the Plan Sponsor by the Underwriter and the Account Executive\nCreate the financial report that will be provided to the Plan Sponsor\nTasks related to the financial report directly impact corporate accounting systems\nAssist with non-standard on demand reporting and financial estimates\nAssist with preparing monthly/quarterly/annual scheduled reporting\n\nWhat you will bring:\nYou have post-secondary or an equivalent combination of education and experience\nYou are curious and inquisitive. You love math!\nYou get energized when you work in partnership with team members and many internal business areas, and you do this with your excellent interpersonal skills\nYou are highly proficient with Excel and easily learn new tools and applications\nYour verbal and written communication skills are both effective and efficient\nYou are a driver who has ability to meet tight deadlines, work under pressure, and prioritize multiple tasks and shifting priorities\nYou are a critical thinker who can problem-solve and make good decisions when working with incomplete information\nYou understand what it means to put the customer first. Hence you have a willingness to work towards a GBA or full CEBS designation under the CEBS program\nReliability Status security clearance - this is a personnel security status that is required before an employee can gain access to Protected B information, assets or work sites as outlined by the Government of Canada website \n-\nThe base salary for this position is between $43,400 - $68,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
