Our employees are inspired to make a positive impact on the lives of injured workers and businesses throughout the province.\nHow you’ll make a difference:\nYou will play a vital role in protecting the privacy of Alberta’s workers while ensuring timely and accurate responses to external requests for claim file information. Using your keen attention to detail, you will carefully review claim documents and medical information packages to determine what can be disclosed under the Workers’ Compensation Act (WC Act), the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) and the Access to Information Act (ATIA). Your work helps maintain trust and transparency, making a meaningful impact every day.\nThis role gives you the opportunity to showcase your strong judgment and analytical skills. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to structure your day in an independent work environment while being supported by a collaborative team.\nYour review clerk responsibilities:\nApply sound judgment to determine the right of access to records\nUse established procedures to redact sensitive information.\nReview medical information packages to ensure disclosure aligns with privacy guidelines.\nExamine claim files to confirm compliance with sections 147 and 148 of the WC Act, POPA, and ATIA.\nRead and analyze documents with exceptional attention to detail to identify information that must be withheld or released.\nCollaborate with a supportive team while managing your workload independently.\nFor more information about our team, please visit: Access to Information - WCB Alberta.\nYour experience and skills:\nPost-secondary education or the equivalent combination of work experience with information access and privacy legislation is preferred.\nGeneral knowledge of WCB legislation, policies and procedures would be an asset.\nExperience applying POPA and ATIA.\nStrong attention to detail and ability to review documents for extended periods.\nProficiency using business computer applications including Adobe Pro, eCO, Image and PAM.\nThe ability to exercise independent judgment and work with minimal supervision.\nKnowledge of medical terminology is considered an asset.\nWhat we offer:\nWe offer a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, flexible work schedules and hybrid work opportunities (combination of work from physical office and primary home residence) that foster a healthy work-life balance.
