What you’ll be doing

You’ll act as a trusted advisor, coordinating with internal and external specialists to deliver seamless, holistic financial solutions tailored to each UHNW client’s unique needs. In this leadership role, you’ll oversee in your region business development, client relationship management, and the integration of specialized services - such as cash management, credit structuring, investment management, estate planning, tax strategies, philanthropy, and succession planning. You’ll be accountable for growing and deepening client relationships, ensuring that every UHNW client receives the highest standard of care and expertise. Your ability to connect clients with the right CIBC channels and subject matter experts will be key to supporting their long-term financial goals, while your oversight will ensure the ongoing success and growth of the Family Office in your region.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. Details on your work arrangement (proportion of on-site and remote work) will be discussed at the time of your interview.

How you’ll succeed

  • Business Development & Growth - Identify and pursue new opportunities with prospective UHNW clients, represent CIBC Family Office at industry events, and build a robust referral ecosystem with internal partners and external centers of influence. Collaborate with team’s key client advisors to align solutions with clients’ goals and risk tolerance.

  • Client Relationship Management - Serve as the primary point of contact for Family Office clients in your region, cultivating long-term, trust-based relationships and maintaining regular touchpoints with each client and their dedicated CIBC Family Office “deal team.” Oversee a portfolio of approximately 100 Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) client households, ensuring the achievement of strategic goals and consistently delivering exceptional service and outcomes.

  • Integrated Solutions Delivery - Collaborate with advisors and planners across CIBC Wealth-including Private Banking, Wood Gundy, Private Investment Counsel, Planning, Trust, and partners in CIBC Bank USA and the Caribbean-to deliver tailored liquidity, investment, and planning solutions to Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients. Provide ongoing oversight by monitoring and reviewing progress on strategic roadmaps for both new and existing clients, ensuring their evolving needs are met with comprehensive, integrated offerings.

  • Risk & Compliance Leadership - Champion a culture of risk management and compliance by upholding CIBC’s high standards for policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Act as a trusted escalation point for complex Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) client needs, and drive operational excellence by proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen controls and streamline processes.

Who you are

  • You bring extensive industry expertise. • You have technical and regulatory expertise. You possess a deep understanding of credit structuring, wealth planning, and risk management for Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients, along with advanced knowledge of AML/KYC requirements in Canada, enhanced due diligence for higher-risk clients, and best practices for validating source-of-wealth and source-of-funds.
