Apply today!\nWhat you will be doing! \nSupporting waste management operations by collecting, processing, transporting, and delivering clean waste and recyclable materials across the site.\nOperating forklifts to transport recyclable materials and waste streams for on-site and off-site processing and disposal.\nPerforming spotter responsibilities while working around heavy equipment and waste handling operations.\nActing as a facility representative when interacting with waste transportation, recycling, and disposal service providers.\nSupporting waste shipments and coordinating with on-site waste generators to ensure efficient waste handling activities.\nOperating vehicle monitors, weight scales, and operational tracking equipment to support waste processing activities.\nSorting waste materials and recyclable streams into appropriate diversion pathways for processing and shipment.\nPerforming safe lifting and material handling activities as part of daily waste processing operations.\nLoading and unloading waste bins, materials, supplies, and equipment as required.\nOperating bag monitoring equipment to support waste clearance activities.\nMaintaining waste tracking records and operational documentation.\nFollowing CNL safety procedures, policies, and operational standards.\nReporting safety concerns and supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the facility.\nMaintaining housekeeping standards throughout the facility and processing yard.\nOther duties as assigned by your manager. \nWhat we are looking for:\n Education Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.\nValid driver's licence with the ability to operate site vehicles as required.\nAbility and willingness to complete job-specific training required to support Clearable Waste Operations activities.\n\n Experience Experience identifying recyclable waste streams and non-conforming materials.\nExperience, or willingness to learn, forklift operation.\nExperience performing manual labour in an industrial or operational environment.\nExperience using hand tools and working around equipment.\nFamiliarity with Radiation Protection principles is considered an asset.\nFamiliarity with Chalk River Laboratories facilities and operations is considered an asset.\n\n Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesDemonstrated ability to follow verbal and written instructions while working independently and as part of a team.\nDemonstrated ability to safely operate equipment following training and established procedures.\nProven ability to organize and prioritize assigned work activities efficiently.\nDemonstrated ability to maintain accurate records and operational documentation.\nStrong commitment to safety, housekeeping, and procedural compliance.\nDemonstrated ability to work effectively with a diverse group of personnel and represent the organization professionally.\nApplied knowledge of waste handling, recycling, and material segregation practices.\nWorking knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment and Clothing (PPE&C) requirements and safe work practices.\nBasic proficiency using Outlook, LearnCNL, Oracle, and other computer-based systems.\nDemonstrated commitment to teamwork and supporting operational objectives in a fast-paced environment.\nPhysically capable of performing manual labour, including lifting, carrying, sorting, and handling waste materials.\n\n Security Clearance Eligibility RequiredReliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.” \n\nWorking Conditions:\nWorking schedule: Four (4) days per week, ten (10) hours per day for a forty (40) hour work week. \nThis position is part of the LA Union and is governed by the terms and conditions outlined in theLA Collective Agreement.
