In Bedford, Nova Scotia.\nIn addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.\nJob Summary\nThe Pipe Industrial Engineer plays a key role in driving operational excellence across manufacturing processes. This position is responsible for analyzing current operations, collaborating with production and maintenance teams to design efficient workflows, and implementing improvements that enhance productivity and reduce waste. The engineer also supports quality assurance efforts to ensure final products meet established standards and customer expectations.\nResponsibilities\nReview production processes, systems, and procedures with the intent of promoting a culture of continuous improvement\n\nMake recommendations and implement continuous improvement programs for production and maintenance processes, as well as processes upstream from production\n\nAssist in the overall planning and execution of capital projects\n\nMonitor market for production and associated technology and make upgrade recommendations to management for new equipment or other systems that would increase plant efficiency\n\nAssist with the continuous improvement of process procedures to resolve production issues\n\nDevelop and maintain KPIs relating to production quality and efficiency\n\nHelp develop and manage process documentation and share production efficiency analyses with operations as needed\n\nTechnical Requirements\nBachelor’s degree in civil, industrial or mechanical engineering\n\nStrong knowledge of production machinery, processes, and standards\n\nProficiency in programs such as Microsoft Office 365, 3D Building Information Modeling (“BIM”) software such as Tekla Structures, Virtual Simulation software such as Siemens Technomatics, with exposure to other engineering related Manufacturing Resource Planning (“MRP”) software being an asset\n\nPrevious experience or co-op placement in precast concrete considered a definite asset\n\nBusiness Requirements\nStrong critical thinking and problem-solving skills\n\nExperience with time management and creating Key Performance Indicators (“KPI’s”)\n\nDesire to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and customer-focused environment\n\nCultural Requirements\nAbility to work productively with a unionized, hourly workforce in a plant environment\n\nGood communication and interpersonal skills with individuals of diverse backgrounds & disciplines, including various levels of management\n\nA team player with the desire to work collaboratively with others to improve existing processes\n\nAs a member of the OSCO Construction Group, Strescon Limited offers a comprehensive compensation package including health and dental coverage, life insurance, RRSP and tax-free savings account options.
