Canam Bridges is a member of Canam Group, which has over 5,100 employees and operates 22 plants in North America, as well as engineering offices in Canada, Romania, India and the Philippines.\n MUST BE AUTHORIZED TO WORK IN THE USA\nDifferent levels and pay structure based on skill and education.\nFIRST AND SECOND SHIFT\nCompetitive Shift Differential\nFit and assemble structural framework, components and materials in various shapes, sizes and designs such as but not limited to: angle, I beam and other steel components in compliance with the corporate mission and values, and departmental financial objectives.\nEssential Functions:\nLayout, position, align and fit together the fabricated parts of structural components according to shop drawings or prints and layout specifications;\n\nOperate cutting and heating torches;\n\nCheck camber and sweep tolerances of girders and beams and be able to effectively make necessary corrections per pertinent codes and specifications;\n\nTack weld in all positions using multiple welding processes;\n\nGrind parts, torque bolts and operate mechanical and manual cutting equipment;\n\nProduce a finished product that meets recognized standards, codes and customer expectations by maintaining quality procedures and practices;\n\nKeep equipment and work areas clean and orderly;\n\nIdentify potential hazards and make necessary corrections;\n\nAssist in training efforts and be able to mentor other employees;\n\nWork in a safe, professional and conscientious manner;\n\nMaintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in an effective professional and courteous manner with customers, coworkers, clients and supervisors;\n\nAbility to understand welding procedures;\n\nAble to read and interpret weld symbols on shop drawings and prints;\n\nAble to read and interpret complex shop drawings and prints and apply information accordingly.\n\n High school diploma or GED preferred;\nExperience and/or training or equivalent or the combination of education and experience;\n\nMust possess exceptional reading and mathematical skills.\n\n Physical Demands:\nThe ability to stand continuously is essential with occasional walking and sitting. The nature of the position will require employees to perform a wide range of physical activities ranging from pushing, pulling, lifting, carrying heavy objects (60 lbs.) climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending and handling. Repetitive motions and awkward body positioning.
