Inspects welded product and dimensions. Document inspections on required QC forms and drawings.\nESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:\nMonitors welding on a spot check basis.\n\nMonitors the welding procedures on a spot check basis (weekly) and records the results.\n\nResponsible for completing the Inspection and Test Plan.\n\nPerforms dimensional inspection and visual inspection (excluding finished welds).\n\nPerforms non-destructive testing (if qualified).\n\nThe technician takes notes of all non-executed processes of inspection, the Forman must inform the technician as to advancement of the work.\n\nInspects product for quality assurance standards using current methodology and\n\ntechniques.\n\nCommunicates routinely throughout the day with production leads, supervisors, and QA Manager.\n\nProvides technical and operation support and/or services to ensure quality assurance standards are met in providing support to various project tasks.\n\nAssesses and trains new employees as necessary.\n\nAssists other employees in the performance of their duties as necessary.\n\nWorks under the direction of the QC Manager.\n\nPerforms other job duties as assigned by the Manager.\n\n CWI Required\nFive (5) years welding experience.\n\nPossess math skills in imperial and metric systems.\n\nRead measuring tape, add and subtract simple fractions and decimals.\n\nRead and interpret work orders, job specification sheets and approved shop drawings.\n\nAbility to work independently without direct supervision and as a team member.\n\nLift up to 60 lbs.\n\nRead and speak English\n\nExperience in Structural Steel operations (preferred)\n\nHS Diploma (preferred)\n\n Work Environment:\nGeneral office, production environment and plant operation.
