Built on an API-first architecture, our extensible ecosystem enables institutions to adapt quickly, integrate easily, and unlock new opportunities for growth-turning every customer interaction into a moment of clarity, confidence, and connection.\nJob Title: Commercial Counsel, Candescent\nLocation: Hyderabad or Bangalore\nCommercial Counsel\nCandescent works in a dynamic and collegial team of attorneys and contract managers with a mentoring approach from leadership.This position will work on client contracts and commercial matters at Candescent.\nKEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:\nNegotiate customer licensing and sales contracts, working closely with business to align contract language and financial terms while protecting Candescent from risk\nFormulate commercial contracts with product exhibits, SLAs, SOWS, etc.\nNegotiate terms with customer counsel to close time sensitive deals\nAssist with negotiating customer Data Processing Agreements\nExercise sound judgment in advising business clients on interpretation and risk\nAssist with preparing and updating detailed playbooks to frame risk profile for customer contracts\nOccasionally assist with partner and vendor agreements\nBASIC REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE:\nJ.D. from an accredited, top tier law school and admission to a State Bar\nRequired:5+ years as commercial or sales support counsel in the SAAS space with at least 3 years in-house\nDeep knowledge of state and global privacy laws\nSelf-starter who works with urgency and proactively manages response timelines\nExcellent interpersonal and written communication skills\nConfidence and efficacy in client and customer-facing situations, presenting a positive and professional image\nTeam player with attention to detail\nContinuing willingness to learn and upskill\n\nPreferred: Knowledge of regulatory law applicable to financial institutions and vendors to financial institutions including Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering laws, and Know Your Customer obligations\n\nTravel not expected\nStatement to Third Party Agencies\nTo ALL recruitment agencies: Candescent only accepts resumes from agencies on the preferred supplier list.
