You will own hands-on execution across keyword research, on-page and technical optimisation, and content collaboration, while tracking performance and translating data into clear recommendations.\nThis is an execution-focused role. The Web Strategy Manager sets overall search direction and priorities; you own the day-to-day work that delivers against them. You will work closely with content, web development, and demand generation teams to ensure our site is discoverable, fast, and well-structured for both traditional search engines and emerging AI-driven answer experiences.\nKey Responsibilities and Deliverables\nWhat you will be responsible for and what you will do\nTechnical & On-Page SEO\nPerform technical SEO audits covering site speed, crawlability, indexation, site architecture, structured data, and mobile usability, and partner with the web development team to resolve issues.\nOptimise existing pages and new content for on-page best practices including titles, meta descriptions, headers, internal linking, and schema markup.\nPartner with the web team to ensure site changes and new page launches follow SEO best practices before they go live.\nResearch, Content & AEO\nConduct keyword research and competitive analysis to identify growth opportunities and content gaps.\nCollaborate with content and marketing teams to plan and brief search-friendly content that aligns with search intent.\nApply emerging Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) practices to improve visibility in AI-driven search surfaces such as Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity.\nSupport backlink and digital PR efforts that build domain authority.\nMeasurement & Reporting\nMonitor and report on organic performance using Google Analytics (GA4), Google Search Console, and SEO tooling.\nTrack rankings, traffic, and conversion trends, and translate data into actionable recommendations.\nPresent regular performance reporting and insight to stakeholders.\nCollaboration & Ways of Working\nWork to the direction and priorities set by the Web Strategy Manager, flagging trade-offs and opportunities as they arise.\nPartner with web development, design, content, and demand generation teams to get recommendations implemented.\nStay current on search engine algorithm updates and evolving discoverability practices.\nMaintain a working schedule with sufficient overlap with US business hours on at least a few days each week to enable live collaboration, reviews, and handoffs.\nExperience\nDemonstrated skills, competencies, and required experience\n6-9 years of experience in SEO, digital marketing, or a related role.\nStrong understanding of technical SEO, on-page optimisation, and content strategy.\nHands-on experience with Google Analytics (GA4) and Google Search Console.\nProficiency with SEO tooling such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Moz, or Screaming Frog.\nFamiliarity with emerging AEO concepts and how AI-driven search surfaces are changing discoverability.\nBasic understanding of HTML and CSS and how site structure impacts search performance.\nStrong analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into clear, actionable recommendations.\nExcellent written communication skills, and comfort briefing content teams and writing optimised copy.\nDetail-oriented and organised, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.\nQualifications & Preferred Distinctions\nAdditional accomplishments\nBachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; equivalent professional experience will be considered.\nExperience with Webflow or other content management platforms is preferred.\nExperience with structured data and schema markup implementation is preferred.\nFamiliarity with A/B testing and conversion rate optimisation is a plus.\nExperience supporting financial services, technology, B2B, SaaS, or enterprise software brands is preferred.\nExperience collaborating across geographies and time zones is helpful.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nConsistent quarter-over-quarter growth in organic traffic and keyword rankings.\nImproved site health scores and a reducing backlog of technical SEO issues.\nContent that ranks well and genuinely satisfies search intent.\nGrowing visibility in AI-driven answer experiences.\nClear, data-backed reporting that informs content and web strategy decisions.\nWhat Will Make You Successful\nPersistence in chasing fixes through to implementation rather than stopping at the recommendation.\nCuriosity about how search is changing, and willingness to test new approaches.\nStrong attention to detail and a high standard of craft and quality.\nAbility to manage multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities without losing momentum.\nClear, proactive communication with stakeholders across geographies and time zones.\nA collaborative, low-ego working style and a genuine willingness to give and receive feedback.\nStrong organisation, follow-through, and accountability in a global, fast-paced environment.\nStatement to Third Party Agencies\nTo ALL recruitment agencies: Candescent only accepts resumes from agencies on the preferred supplier list.
