This role will play a critical part in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end close, strengthening internal controls, and partnering cross-functionally to uphold accounting integrity as the company scales. The ideal candidate thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and brings strong technical accounting knowledge, process discipline, and a proactive mindset.\nKey Responsibilities & Deliverables\nCore Accounting & Close\nLead components of the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.\nMaintain the general ledger in accordance with US GAAP, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and integrity.\nPrepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial statement audits.\nTechnical Accounting & Compliance\nResearch and interpret guidance on complex accounting issues (e.g., ASC 606, ASC 842) and prepare technical memos as needed leveraging internal precedent from the Technical Accounting team.\n\nAssist in implementing and maintaining accounting policies and internal controls that align with Candescent’s compliance standards and SOC-related expectations.\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nPartner with FP&A, Legal, Sales, and Operations to ensure accurate financial treatment of contracts, spend, and business initiatives.\nSupport audits by preparing schedules and responding to audit requests.\nProcess Improvement\nIdentify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting.\nSupport systems improvements (e.g., ERP enhancements, automation initiatives).\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.\n4-6+ years of progressive accounting experience (public accounting and/or SaaS/technology industry preferred).\nStrong understanding of US GAAP.\nExperience with month-end close, reconciliations, and audit support.\nAdvanced Excel proficiency.\nAbility to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.\nRole is onsite in Melville, New York\n\nPreferred Distinctions\nCPA or progress toward CPA.\nExperience in fintech, SaaS, or high-growth, PE-backed environments.\nExperience with ASC 606 revenue accounting or ASC 842 lease accounting.\nFamiliarity with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite) and process automation tools.\nMUST BE OKAY WORKING FROM THE MELVILLE, NY OFFICE 5 DAYS A WEEK.\nStatement to Third Party Agencies\nTo ALL recruitment agencies: Candescent only accepts resumes from agencies on the preferred supplier list.
