Our team includes engineers from MIT, Carnegie Mellon, major LNG and power projects, and leading EPCs.\nThis Role\nWe're hiring a senior process engineer who has actually delivered power generation and gas-to-power projects at a top EPC, PMC, or owner-operator. Think combined cycle, simple cycle and peakers, gas-to-power for data centers and behind-the-meter campuses, LNG, and cogeneration. If your career has been refining or petrochem with no power work, this isn't the right fit.\nThis is a hands-on role. You'll do real process engineering on our delivery work for the parts our software can't handle yet, you'll be the quality check on what the software does produce, and you'll shape where the product goes next. Three jobs in one, and the mix shifts as the product gets better.\nWhat You'll Do\nThis is hands-on engineering plus product. Day to day you'll:\nDo real process engineering on our FEL-2 and early-phase delivery work, owning the parts our software can't handle yet so projects ship\n\nBe the quality gate on Candid's automated outputs: catch what's wrong before it reaches a client, and feed it back so the product gets sharper\n\nDefine how preconstruction process work actually gets done on power and gas-to-power projects, and what \"good\" looks like\n\nReview and validate process deliverables across early-phase packages: heat balances, fuel gas systems, balance of plant, utilities\n\nBuild repeatable checks that catch inconsistencies across key documents and handoffs\n\nMap where rework happens, why it happens, and what inputs drive it\n\nClarify interface points with Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, and Instrumentation\n\nSeparate the steps that are genuinely repetitive from the ones that need real engineering judgment\n\nYou'll help define the checks, workflows, and product requirements that let software take on the repetitive parts, with engineers in control.\nWhat We're Looking For\n7+ years at a large scale EPC, PMC, or owner-operator, with most of it on power generation or gas-to-power\n\nDirect experience on combined cycle, simple cycle, gas-to-power, LNG, or cogeneration projects (not refining or petrochem only)\n\nYou've personally owned PFD and P&ID development through FEED\n\nStrong on fuel gas systems, balance of plant, and utility systems\n\nHands-on with process simulation: Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, Thermoflow / GT PRO, GateCycle, or similar\n\nSolid fundamentals in relief, hydraulics, and equipment sizing\n\nWorking knowledge of API, ASME, NFPA, ISA, and relevant power codes\n\nYou spot inconsistencies across P&IDs, datasheets, and vendor packages fast\n\nClear understanding of cross-discipline dependencies\n\nYou've felt boxed in by big-company process and you want out\n\nComfortable with ambiguity and wearing multiple hats; bias to action over waiting for perfect\n\nNice to Have\nDiscipline lead or technical authority experience\n\nWork on data center or behind-the-meter power campuses\n\nFlare system modeling and relief calculation packages\n\nReal interest in AI and automation\n\nWho Thrives Here\nYou've outgrown the big-firm machine.
