Join us and put your skills to use to help keep our modern sawmill running at peak performance.\nThis role is a full-time permanent position working Monday-Friday.\nWhat you will do as a Knife Technician:\nSharpen, maintain, and repair knives used in sawmill machinery to ensure optimal performance.\nOperate and maintain equipment used for knife sharpening and alignment.\nInspect knives for defects, ensuring they meet our high-quality standards.\nFollow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.\nDiagnose and resolve issues with knives and related equipment.\nKeep track of knife inventory, ensuring we have the necessary supplies and tools on hand.\nMaintain accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed on knives.\nWork closely with mill operators and other team members to ensure seamless production processes.\n\nExperience and skills that will help you stand out:\nAt least 2 years of experience as a Knife Technician or in a similar role, preferably in a sawmill setting.\nProficiency in operating knife sharpening equipment and a strong understanding of knife maintenance techniques.\nExceptional attention to detail and precision in your work.\nAbility to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing for long periods, lifting heavy objects, and handling sharp tools safely.\nStrong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think on your feet.\nGood communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.\n\nWe believe that inclusion and diversity are essential to driving productivity, creativity, innovation, and maintaining a competitive edge.
