Team members may present at industry conferences, share threat intelligence with the wider community, or publish open source security software.\nJunior positions are also available for less-experienced individuals with a compelling academic or professional background.\nIn this role, you will:\nProvide operational and engineering leadership.\nImplement and evolve Canonical’s Security Operations Center.\nDesign and develop security software and platforms.\nMonitor for, identify, respond to, and remediate security incidents.\nAssess and improve Canonical’s security controls.\nMentor early-career Security Operations engineers.\nPlan and deliver work within Canonical's agile engineering framework.\nContribute to open source security.\nPublish blog posts, whitepapers and conference presentations.\nWe are looking for:\nAn exceptional academic track record.\nUndergraduate degree in Computer Science or STEM, or a compelling narrative about your alternative path.\n10+ years of relevant professional experience\nProfessional cybersecurity experience, preferably working or leading a Security Operations Center.\nProfessional engineering experience.\nAn eagerness to contribute to open source security.\nProficiency in common scripting languages, such as Python and Bash.\nKnowledge of Git, GitOps, Infrastructure-as-Code, and common orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes)\nThough optional, we value:\nFamiliarity with security frameworks such as the NIST CSF, CIS CSC, and ISO 27001\nKnowledge of security architecture and market-leading security tools.\nExperience in a security operations team or a security operations center.\nExperience in offensive or defensive security teams with hands-on ability.\nExperience with advanced persistent threats.\nProficiency in additional programming languages, such as Golang.\nWhat we offer you:\nWe consider geographical location, experience, and performance in shaping compensation worldwide.
