This includes, but is not limited to, supporting underwriters in the acquisition and retention of business, working directly with brokers to obtain information, fulfil servicing needs and resolve issues and liaising with other functions across Canopius to data, servicing and/or cash flow issues. This role is responsible for ensuring that business is processed correctly and timely.\nResponsibilities\nNew Business Support\nSubmission clearance.\n\nFollow up on information needed from brokers.\n\nInitiate sanctions check if required and escalate to underwriter if there is a hit.\n\nPerform pre-analysis (triage) support based on predefined underwriting rules and/or guidelines. Evaluates new and renewal submissions against prescribed criteria to determine completeness; documents outstanding items and include them in communication to an underwriter for review.\n\nPrepare quote letter.\n\nCatastrophe modelling (if required).\n\nPrepare binder document.\n\nProcess transaction in policy administration system.\n\nObtain surplus lines producer licensing information for non-admitted business.\n\nMaintain accurate and updated electronic underwriting files for all accounts in accordance with internal service standards and procedures.\n\nIssue policies.\n\nIssue reinsurance certificates for local foreign policies (D&F Property only).\n\nRenewal Business Support\nFollow up for information needed from brokers, including but not limited to renewal applications.\n\nObtain loss information.\n\nPerform pre-analysis (triage) support based on predefined underwriting rules and/or guidelines. Evaluates new and renewal submissions against prescribed criteria to determine completeness; documents outstanding items and include them in communication to an underwriter for review.\n\nPrepare quote letter.\n\nCatastrophe modelling (if required).\n\nPrepare binder document.\n\nProcess transaction in policy administration system.\n\nObtain surplus lines producer licensing information for non-admitted business.\n\nMaintain accurate and updated electronic underwriting files for all accounts in accordance with internal service standards and procedures.\n\nIssue policies.\n\nIssue reinsurance certificates for local foreign policies (D&F Property only).\n\nPremium Invoicing and Collections\nGenerate invoice for all premium bearing transactions.\n\nWork with Premium Accounting to pursue collection for past due premiums.\n\nWork with Premium Accounting to resolve premium discrepancies.\n\nPolicy Servicing\nIssue endorsements for approved policy changes, including rating additional/return premiums where appropriate.\n\nProcess cancellations (insured request or for nonpayment of premium).\n\nProcess transaction in policy administration system.\n\nFollow up with broker to resolve outstanding subjectivities.\n\nSupport ceded facultative reinsurance transactions/administration.\n\nProcess broker of record transactions.\n\nIssue policies within SLA timeframe.\n\nEnsure bound new and renewal policies are booked prior to monthly closing.\n\nTesting, Subject Matter Expertise and Projects\nParticipate in testing of system changes/enhancements.\n\nParticipate in projects as assigned.\n\nSkills and Qualifications\nExcellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.\n\nAbility to work under pressure as part of a small team and self-motivated to work independently.\n\nStrong critical thinking skills.\n\nExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal.\n\nStrong attention to detail and focus on quality/accuracy.\n\nAbility to work and learn with a sense of urgency in a fast-paced environment.\n\nEffective problem-solving skills.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft O365 tools, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint and Teams.\n\nBasic financial statement knowledge or interest to learn.\n\nPrior insurance exposure required.\n\nSalary Range: $55,000 -
