Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, this role will play a critical part in translating demand signals into actionable production schedules, ensuring alignment between material availability, capacity, and customer delivery commitments.\nThis is an ideal opportunity for a motivated planner who thrives in a fast-paced, high-mix, low-volume manufacturing setting and is eager to contribute to building scalable planning processes from the ground up.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain detailed production schedules in alignment with the master production plan\nRelease and manage work orders to support machining, fabrication, and assembly operations\nMonitor daily production performance and adjust schedules to address delays, constraints, or priority changes\nEnsure alignment between production schedules and material availability\nTranslate customer orders, forecasts, and program requirements into executable work orders\nSupport on-time delivery by proactively identifying risks and escalating issues\nAssist in managing delivery dates and updating order statuses within ERP systems\nSupport capacity planning activities by analyzing work center loads and identifying bottlenecks\nPartner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to resolve constraints\nRecommend schedule adjustments to optimize throughput and resource utilization\nWork closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Program Management to ensure schedule alignment\nCoordinate with Purchasing to track material shortages and expedite critical components\nCommunicate schedule changes, risks, and recovery plans to internal stakeholders\nMaintain accurate planning data within ERP/MRP systems (BOMs, routings, lead times, and order statuses)\nEnsure work order accuracy and timely system updates to reflect real-time production status\nAssist in troubleshooting planning and MRP-related issues\nSupport the development and standardization of planning processes and tools\nContribute to improvements in schedule adherence, planning accuracy, and production flow\nParticipate in planning cadences such as daily production meetings and capacity reviews\nDrive performance against key operational KPIs, including on-time delivery, WIP levels, past due orders, and schedule adherence, ensuring alignment with production targets and customer commitments\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)\n2-5 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or manufacturing operations\nExperience working in a manufacturing environment (aerospace/defense preferred)\nFamiliarity with ERP/MRP systems and production scheduling principles (JobBoss, Epicor, Oracle, SAP, etc.)\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities\nAnalytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving capability\nEffective communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments\nExposure to AS9100 or other regulated manufacturing standards\nWorking knowledge of Epicor ERP\nFamiliarity with CNC machining, fabrication, or aerospace assemblies\nAPICS/CPIM certification or progress toward certification\nExperience supporting production in a growth-stage or startup environment\nAdditional Requirements\nMust have professional working proficiency reading, writing, and speaking English\nAbility to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments with occasional exposure to noise, chemicals, dust, industrial equipment, and temperature variations\nAbility to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer workstation\nFrequent use of hands and fingers for data entry, keyboarding, and mouse use\nAbility to view computer screens for prolonged periods\nAbility to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via email\nAbility to use a computer to complete assignments \nThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed.
