The candidate must be familiar with a manufacturing environment, have working computer knowledge and be a self-starter who pays attention to detail and accuracy and take responsibility for his/her work. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing machined parts by setting up and operating CNC routers, maintaining quality and safety standards, keeping accurate records, maintaining equipment and other duties as assigned.\nKey Responsibiliites\nSet up and operate machines to produce parts by using work orders, blueprints, material lists, and specifications.\nInterprets job instructions such as CNC programs, tool list, job routing, part drawings and in-process quality instructions.\nLocates the appropriate tool holders, tools, and fixtures and loads them into the machine.\nStaging and prepping of material for cutting.\nDetermines proper tooling and feed rates per material/Job.\nEnsures that the work piece and tools are properly cooled.\nRuns the program, takes measurements, and makes any adjustments necessary to produce quality parts.\nModifies programs in response to problems.\nCleans/deburrs parts before transfer to next department.\nInspects first run piece and checks succeeding pieces for conformance to specifications.\nKeeping work area clean and organized.\nSupport 5-S and adhere to health, safety and environmental company guidelines.\nPerform cross-functional operations.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or general education diploma (GED).\nMinimum 2 years' experience in related area.\nAbility to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and work orders.\nKnowledge of a variety of cutting tools.\nAbility to work with shop math.\nAbility to use standard measuring tools (i.e. micrometers, calipers)\nAbility to communicate effectively in oral and written English.\nAbility to learn to perform cross-functional operations.\nWillingness to learn.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with machining of metallics, composites, and plastics.\nExperience with Multicam CNC Routers.\nExperience with EnRoute CAD/CAM Software.\nAdditional Requirements\nMust have professional working proficiency reading, writing, and speaking English\nAbility to work in office, lab, and manufacturing environments with occasional exposure to noise, chemicals, dust, industrial equipment, and temperature variations\nAbility to sit or stand for extended periods while working at a computer workstation\nFrequent use of hands and fingers for data entry, keyboarding, and mouse use\nAbility to view computer screens for prolonged periods\nAbility to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and via email\nAbility to use a computer to complete assignments \nAbility to work extended hours and weekends as necessary\nAbility to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret security clearance\nWork environment: Machinists spend most of the day on their feet and must follow strict safety rules. They wear safety glasses to protect their eyes from airborne debris. Loud noise from machinery requires use of hearing protectors. They wear hard toe shoes or boots to protect their feet from potentially dropped objects.\nPhysical demands: Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Stand for long periods of time. Repeat the same movements. Bend or twist their body.
