Capco is a management and technology consultancy founded in 1998 that works exclusively for the financial services industry, covering banking, capital markets, wealth management, insurance and payments. Unlike the broad generalist consultancies it deliberately stays within one sector, which is how it competes for regulatory, risk and core banking transformation work against much larger firms. Headquartered in London with delivery centres across Europe, North America and Asia and a large engineering presence in Poland, the firm has been owned by the French IT services group Wipro since 2021.

Location: London (Hybrid) | Practice Area: Finance, Risk, Regulatory & Financial Crime | Type: Permanent

Drive impactful change across enterprise risk, market abuse, and surveillance frameworks

The Role

Capco is looking for Management Consultants with expertise in Non-Financial Risk to join our growing Finance, Risk, Regulatory & Financial Crime (FRRF) capability. You'll work on a variety of projects for leading financial institutions, delivering risk transformation and advisory services across enterprise and operational risk. Acting as a trusted advisor, you'll help shape the future of risk frameworks, controls, governance, and surveillance capabilities. You'll also embrace AI-enabled ways of working, using approved AI tools to enhance analysis, improve delivery efficiency, and support better decision-making while applying appropriate human judgement and responsible AI practices.

What You'll Do

  • Support enterprise and operational risk transformation projects, leveraging AI-enabled analysis where appropriate to improve delivery, insight, and efficiency.
  • Document, assess, and enhance risk processes and controls across the first and second lines of defence, identifying opportunities for automation and AI-enabled workflow improvements.
  • Contribute to market abuse and trade surveillance initiatives by reviewing controls, detection scenarios, and the responsible application of AI to improve surveillance effectiveness and reduce false positives.
  • Support AI model tuning and optimisation activities within surveillance environments, ensuring appropriate governance, validation, auditability, and human oversight.
  • Engage stakeholders across business, technology, compliance, and risk functions to deliver collaborative, data-driven transformation initiatives.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in enterprise or operational risk, ideally within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of market abuse regulation and trade surveillance frameworks.
  • Awareness or practical experience of AI and machine learning applications within risk or surveillance environments, including model tuning concepts and responsible AI practices.
  • Experience documenting end-to-end processes, identifying risk and control gaps, and using approved AI tools to support analysis where appropriate.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly across business and technology teams.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience in control testing, risk assurance, or remediation.
  • Exposure to surveillance platforms such as NICE Actimize, Nasdaq SMARTS, or similar technologies.
  • Experience applying AI-enabled analytics, automation, or model optimisation within enterprise risk or surveillance environments.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops and build strong stakeholder engagement.
  • Previous consulting experience within a risk-focused role or experience improving enterprise risk frameworks and control effectiveness.

Why Join Capco

  • Deliver high-impact transformation programmes for Tier 1 financial institutions.
  • Work in a collaborative, flat, and entrepreneurial consulting culture.
  • Access continuous learning, industry certifications, and structured career development.
  • Help shape the future of enterprise risk, market surveillance, and operational resilience.
  • Be part of a team delivering meaningful change across financial services.

Benefits

  • Core Benefits: Discretionary bonus, competitive pension, health insurance, life insurance and critical illness cover.
  • Mental Health: Easy access to CareFirst, Unmind, Aviva consultations, and in-house first aiders.
  • Family-Friendly: Maternity, adoption, shared parental leave, plus paid leave for sickness, pregnancy loss, fertility treatment, menopause, and bereavement.
  • Family Care: Eight complimentary backup care sessions for emergency childcare or elder care.
  • Holiday Flexibility: Five weeks of annual leave with the option to buy or sell holiday days based on your needs.
  • Continuous Learning: Minimum 40 Hours of Training Annually. Take your pick-workshops, certifications, e-learning-your growth, your way. Business Coach assigned from Day One to help accelerate your development.
