Capco is a management and technology consultancy founded in 1998 that works exclusively for the financial services industry, covering banking, capital markets, wealth management, insurance and payments. Unlike the broad generalist consultancies it deliberately stays within one sector, which is how it competes for regulatory, risk and core banking transformation work against much larger firms. Headquartered in London with delivery centres across Europe, North America and Asia and a large engineering presence in Poland, the firm has been owned by the French IT services group Wipro since 2021.

This role is suited to an individual with deep domain expertise and a strong track record of delivering large-scale transformation programmes. You'll work closely with senior stakeholders to design and implement strategies that address evolving financial crime risks and regulatory expectations. What You'll Do

  • Lead strategic financial crime transformation programmes across AML, Sanctions, and Fraud, identifying opportunities to accelerate delivery through AI-enabled workflows and automation where appropriate.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance, including remediation programmes and regulatory review responses (such as Skilled Person Reviews (s166)), ensuring the responsible application of AI within regulated environments.
  • Design and implement target operating models, controls, and technology solutions across financial crime functions, incorporating AI-enabled capabilities where they deliver measurable business value.
  • Identify opportunities for innovation, AI adoption, and cost optimisation across financial crime operations while maintaining strong governance, auditability, and regulatory compliance.
  • Build senior client relationships, lead business development, and shape market-leading propositions that drive growth across Capco's Financial Crime practice.

What We're Looking For

  • Deep expertise in AML, Sanctions Compliance, Fraud Prevention, and wider financial crime transformation within financial services.
  • Strong understanding of financial crime frameworks, including KYC, customer due diligence, risk assessment, transaction monitoring, and the three lines of defence.
  • Proven experience leading large-scale transformation programmes within consulting or financial institutions.
  • Knowledge of financial crime technology, automation, and AI-enabled solutions, with an understanding of responsible AI adoption in highly regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated success influencing executive stakeholders, growing client relationships, and leading strategic transformation initiatives.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience leading regulatory remediation programmes or responding to regulatory reviews.
  • Familiarity with financial crime technology platforms, RegTech solutions, and AI-enabled financial crime capabilities.
  • Demonstrated leadership in proposition development, thought leadership, or innovation across AML, Sanctions, or Fraud.
  • Experience delivering transformation across multiple jurisdictions and regulatory environments.
  • Proven track record of mentoring senior consultants, building capability, and developing future leaders.
