Our consultants contribute to high-impact transformation programs across leading financial institutions.\nThe Role\nWe are looking for an experienced Product Owner Consultant with strong knowledge of SEPA paymentsto support a leading Belgian bank in developing and improving its payment products and services.\nYou will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and delivery teams, translating business and customer needs into a clear product vision, priorities, and actionable user stories.\nYou will own and manage the product backlog, clarify requirements, and guide the delivery team throughout the product lifecycle. Experience with SEPA Direct Debitis a strong advantage, although broader SEPA payments experience is also relevant.\nWhat You Will Do\nDefine and communicate the product vision, objectives, and priorities for SEPA payment solutions.\nTranslate business and customer needs into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.\nCreate, refine, and prioritize the product backlog.\nAct as the main link between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams.\nPrioritize features based on business value, customer impact, risk, dependencies, and regulatory requirements.\nWork closely with Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, developers, architects, operations, and compliance teams.\nParticipate actively in Agile and Scrum ceremonies.\nFacilitate workshops and alignment sessions with business and technical stakeholders.\nReview and validate delivered functionalities.\nSupport User Acceptance Testing, implementation, and change activities.\nEnsure that solutions comply with SEPA standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.\nWhat We Are Looking For\nExperience\nProven experience as a Product Owner or Product Owner Consultantin a complex business and technology environment.\nStrong experience within payments, preferably involving SEPA payment products and processes.\nKnowledge of SEPA payment flows, schemes, and related banking processes.\nExperience with SEPA Direct Debitis a strong advantage.\nExperience within banking or financial services.\nExperience managing and prioritizing a product backlog.\nProven experience working with multidisciplinary teams in Agile and Scrum environments.\nProduct & Business Skills\nStrong product ownership, requirements-gathering, and backlog-management skills.\nAbility to define a clear product vision and translate business needs into user stories and acceptance criteria.\nStrong stakeholder-management and workshop-facilitation skills.\nGood understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.\nFamiliarity with Jira and Confluence.\nUnderstanding of payment processes and the regulatory environment within banking.\nStrong organizational and project-management skills.\nSoft Skills\nAnalytical, structured, and solution-oriented.\nStrong communication and stakeholder-management skills.\nProactive and comfortable taking ownership.\nAble to collaborate effectively with business and technical teams.\nCustomer-focused and driven by business value.\nLanguages\nProfessional proficiency in English is required.\nProfessional proficiency in Dutch or French is required.\nProficiency in all three languages is a strong advantage.\nWorking Model\nThis is a hybrid consulting role based in Belgium.\nOn-site presence in Brussels will be
