This professional will be responsible for defining modern lakehouse architectures, guiding delivery teams through complex technical challenges, and supporting commercial initiatives by designing robust, scalable, and cost-optimized solutions for our clients.\nIn this role you will play a key role in:\nOwn the architecture of Databricks-based solutions from discovery through delivery, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance;\nDefine and implement lakehouse patterns using Databricks (e.g., Delta Lake, Unity Catalog), enabling analytics and AI/ML workloads;\nDesign data ingestion and transformation pipelines (batch and streaming), with best practices for reliability, observability, and SLA management;\nEstablish standards for data modeling, dataset design, and domain-oriented data products where applicable;\nDrive security, governance, and compliance: access control, data privacy, auditing, lineage, and catalog strategies (Unity Catalog, integration with enterprise IAM);\nProvide technical leadership during delivery: unblock teams, handle architectural trade-offs, and guide performance/cost tuning (clusters, job patterns, optimization);\nDefine DataOps/MLOps adjacent practices as needed (CI/CD, testing strategies, environment promotion, monitoring);\nSupport pre-sales and commercial initiatives: solution architecture, technical proposal content, effort estimation, delivery approach, and client technical workshops;\nWork closely with cloud teams to integrate Databricks with AWS/Azure/GCP services (storage, networking, security, orchestration tools). \nYOUR PROFILE\n At least 5 years of experience in data architecture and/or data engineering with hands-on experience in modern data platforms;\nStrong experience with Databricks implementations (architecture + delivery), including Delta Lake and governance concepts (e.g., Unity Catalog);\nStrong knowledge of:- Lakehouse architectures and data warehousing concepts\n- Streaming and batch design patterns\n- Performance tuning and cost optimization in distributed data processing\n- Data governance/security patterns at scale\n\nExperience designing solutions on at least one major cloud (Azure/AWS/GCP) and integrating with cloud-native services;\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to lead architecture discussions with both IT and business;\nProactive, structured problem-solving; entrepreneurial mindset and ownership in ambiguous environments;\nFluency in Portuguese and English (spoken and written);\nMust have Databricks certification(s) and experience with Unity Catalog operating models. \nWHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT WORKING HERE\nAt Capgemini Portugal we have a flexible and dynamic work environment.
