The role involves identification of hazards and risks using Systems Theoretic Process Analysis (STPA), supporting definition of requirements, and implementing measures throughout the product development lifecycle. The Functional Safety Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety into the design, development, verification, and validation of our technologies, adhering to industry standards and regulations.\nYour role\nPromote a culture of safety and compliance throughout the organization by fostering an environment where safety is prioritized and integrated into daily operations.\nContribute to the development of functional safety concepts and requirements for autonomous vehicle control systems.\nGood understanding of Functional Safety lifecycles in general.\nConduct safety analysis, including STPA, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA).\nCollaborate with hardware and software engineering teams to ensure safety requirements are allocated to the design and development process.\nReview safety verification and validation activities, including safety testing and simulation.\nEnsure compliance with internal safety processes and workflows, which are loosely based on a mixture of relevant safety standards (e.g., ISO 25119, ISO 13849, IEC 61508) and regulatory requirements.\nPrepare and maintain safety documentation, including safety plans, safety cases, and safety reports.\nParticipate in safety audits and assessments, both internal and external.\nContribute to technical guidance and support to project teams on functional safety matters.\nStay updated with the latest advancements in functional safety and autonomous vehicle technologies.\n.\nYour skills and experience\n8+ years’ of experience in functional safety engineering, preferably in industries such as robotics, automotive, earth-moving or mining machinery, or agricultural equipment.\nSpecific experience with functional safety using FMEA, and FTA.\nProficient understanding of functional safety standards.\nBasic skills in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with functional safety like STPA, FMEA, and FTA.\nKnowledge of safety lifecycle processes and safety integrity levels.\nProficient analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex safety and compliance issues.\nDetail-oriented, with strong organizational and documentation skills to maintain safety records and compliance reports.\nAnalytical skills to evaluate safety data, conduct risk assessments, and identify areas for improvement.\nProven leadership skills, including the ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.\nAbility to present and summarize reports and analysis for leadership, customer, and regulatory authority reviews.\nThe base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: 68,911 -161,544\nCapgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws.
