In this role, you will develop and enhance the Firm's Market Risk Platform.\nThis is a hands-on Software Engineering role. The successful candidate will spend a significant portion of their time designing, building, and optimizing Java-based systems while also providing technical expertise within the squad.\nThe Firm Market Risk Technology Team develops software to measure and monitor Market Risk and Capital for the firm's global portfolio. We are responsible for designing and implementing technology solutions that calculate the firm's market risk exposure. Our systems support large-scale simulations and analytics that estimate potential losses across multiple time horizons. We work closely with Risk Managers, Market Risk Analytics teams, senior management, and regulatory stakeholders globally. The Market Risk Technology team continually evolves its suite of risk management tools, frameworks, and processes, while also building new solutions to meet an ever-changing business and regulatory landscape.\nWhat You'll Do\nHands-on core Java development with responsibilities for the design, implementation, and support of key components of the Market Risk platform.\nImplement scalable, high-performance computing solutions for market risk calculations and analytics capabilities.\nLeverage AI tools to support agentic and analytical workflows while maintaining rigorous standards for solution quality, accuracy, and correctness.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams and global counterparts to deliver high-quality solutions.\nWork in an Agile development environment, ensuring timely and efficient product delivery.\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers within the squad.\nWhat You'll Bring\nStrong expertise in Core Java development, with a proven track record of building production-grade backend systems.\nExperience designing and building large-scale distributed systems.\nSolid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns.\nStrong working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting.\nExperience with relational and/or document-oriented databases.\nAbility to translate business and analytical requirements into efficient technical solutions. Deep Market Risk domain expertise is not required upfront and can be developed on the job through close partnership with Risk and Analytics teams.\nAbility to guide junior staff, influence technical direction, and manage multiple initiatives in parallel.\nTypically 5+ years of relevant experience building large-scale, production-grade systems, with demonstrated expertise in Java-based backend development and distributed system design.\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.\nSoft Skills & Respnsibilities:\nStrong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.\nSelf-starter with the ability to take initiative and drive projects independently.\nAbility to align technology solutions with business goals and regulatory requirements.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with Agentic AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code.\nExperience using Python and Unix in production environments.\nExperience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP, or other major cloud providers.\nExposure to big data technologies such as Apache Spark and Snowflake.\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.\nKnowledge of containerized deployments and cloud-native architectures.\nFamiliarity with Agile software development methodologies and DevOps best practices.\nBackground in financial services, particularly within Market Risk or FinTech.\nThe base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: 75,000 to 90,000\nCapgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws.
