The role involves transportation planning, carrier coordination, shipment tracking, issue resolution, and performance monitoring to achieve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.\nKey Responsibilities\n1. Transportation Planning & Execution\nPlan and execute daily transportation activities, including primary and secondary distribution.\nAllocate transportation capacity based on shipment volumes, customer requirements, delivery schedules, and vehicle availability.\nEnsure orders are consolidated and optimized to maximize truck utilization and minimize transportation costs.\nCoordinate daily transportation planning activities in line with operational cutoffs and delivery requirements.\nMonitor vehicle availability and ensure the timely dispatch and completion of planned shipments.\n2. Carrier & Stakeholder Management\nCoordinate with transport providers, carriers, warehouse teams, customer service, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth execution.\nFollow up on vehicle allocation, loading, dispatch, delivery confirmation, and proof of delivery.\nMonitor carrier performance against agreed service levels and escalate recurring operational issues.\nMaintain effective communication with stakeholders regarding shipment status, delays, and operational constraints.\n3. Shipment Tracking & Exception Management\nTrack shipments throughout the transportation cycle and proactively identify potential delays or service disruptions.\nInvestigate delivery failures, missed appointments, capacity shortages, and other transportation exceptions.\nCoordinate corrective actions with relevant stakeholders to minimize operational impact.\nSupport root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures to avoid recurring issues.\n4. Cost & Operational Efficiency\nMonitor transportation costs, truck utilization, vehicle fill rates, and transportation productivity.\nIdentify opportunities to optimize routes, consolidate shipments, reduce empty kilometers, and improve vehicle utilization.\nSupport initiatives aimed at reducing transportation costs while maintaining agreed service levels.\nEnsure compliance with approved transportation rates, carrier agreements, and operational procedures.\n5. Performance Monitoring & Reporting\nMonitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including:\nOn-Time Delivery (OTD)\nCase Fill and On-Time Delivery (if applicable)\nTruck Utilization\nTransportation Cost per Shipment\nDelivery Lead Time\nCarrier Performance\nShipment Exception Rate\nPrepare daily operational reports and periodic performance summaries.\nAnalyze performance trends, highlight operational gaps, and recommend improvement actions.\nMaintain accurate transportation records and ensure timely system updates\n6. Systems, Compliance & Continuous Improvement\nUse transportation management systems (TMS), ERP platforms, and reporting tools to manage shipments and logistics activities.\nEnsure accurate shipment documentation, dispatch records, and delivery confirmations.\nComply with company policies, transportation regulations, safety standards, and customer-specific requirements.\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives, process standardization, and automation projects.\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.\n0-1 years of experience in logistics, transportation planning, distribution, or supply chain operations.\nExperience coordinating with transport providers, warehouses, and customer-facing teams.\nKnowledge of transportation planning, shipment tracking, carrier management, and delivery processes.\nExperience with SAP, a Transportation Management System (TMS), and Microsoft Excel; Power BI knowledge is an advantage.\nRequired Skills & Competencies\nStrong planning, coordination, and organizational skills.\nAnalytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management.\nAbility to prioritize multiple shipments and manage time-sensitive operational activities.\nStrong attention to detail and data accuracy.\nProactive approach to issue resolution and continuous improvement.\nAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment.\nCapgemini is an AI-powered global business and technology transformation partner, delivering tangible business value.
