Where no two days are the same.\nJob Description\nMCCB Product Engineering Lead\nLocation: Bangalore\nExperience: 13+ Years\nAbout the Role\nWe are seeking an experienced MCCB Product Engineering Lead with expertise in product development, industrialization, manufacturing processes, validation, and quality engineering for low-voltage switchgear products. The role requires strong technical leadership to drive new product introduction, supplier development, testing, and manufacturing excellence.\nYour Role\nAs an MCCB Product Engineering Lead, you will be responsible for leading product engineering and industrialization activities for MCCB products, ensuring successful product launches, quality compliance, and continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead MCCB product engineering activities from design support through industrialization and production ramp-up.\nDrive New Product Introduction (NPI) programs including pilot builds, process qualification, and manufacturing readiness.\nProvide technical expertise on MCCB architecture, protection systems, operating mechanisms, and critical components.\nCollaborate with design, manufacturing, quality, testing, and supplier teams to ensure robust product performance.\nSupport manufacturing processes including moulding, stamping, forming, plating, joining, assembly, calibration, and testing.\nReview and validate plastic, rubber, and sheet-metal components for manufacturability, quality, and reliability.\nExecute APQP activities including PFMEA, Process Flow, Control Plan, MSA, Cp/Cpk studies, and PPAP deliverables.\nLead validation and compliance testing as per IEC 60947-2 standards.\nPerform root cause analysis for product, process, supplier, and field failures and drive corrective actions.\nSupport supplier qualification, component development, process audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.\nMentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across cross-functional teams.\nRequired Skills & Experience\n13+ years of experience in MCCB product engineering, manufacturing engineering, or industrialization.\nStrong hands-on knowledge of MCCB architecture, protection mechanisms, and components.\nProven experience executing NPI, pilot production, process release, and ramp-up activities.\nExtensive knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection moulding, stamping, sheet-metal fabrication, assembly, and testing.\nStrong understanding of engineering plastics, copper alloys, steels, contact materials, bimetals, elastomers, and coatings.\nHands-on experience with APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, Control Plans, and process capability analysis.\nKnowledge of IEC 60947-2 testing including temperature rise, dielectric, overload, endurance, and trip testing.\nExpertise in failure analysis, problem-solving methodologies, and corrective/preventive actions.\nExperience in supplier development, supplier qualification, and technical leadership.\nExcellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills.\nWhat You’ll Love About Working Here\nWe value flexibility and support our employees with remote work options and adaptable schedules to maintain a healthy work-life balance.\nOur inclusive culture brings together diverse professionals committed to growth, innovation, and excellence.\nYou’ll have access to continuous learning opportunities and certifications in emerging technologies like cloud and AI.\nAt Capgemini Engineering, the world leader in engineering services, we bring together a global team of engineers, scientists, and architects to help the world’s most innovative companies unleash their potential.
