You’ll be equal parts engineer and consultant. You’ll implement end-to-end observability and also evangelise its value, influencing engineering, platform, operations and business teams to adopt it.\nYou’ll help organisations move beyond traditional monitoring. You’ll do this by grounding observability in SRE principles and by turning telemetry into insight the business can act on. You’ll be recognised as a source of thought leadership in observability and reliability practice, both within our clients and across the wider profession.\nYour role\nKey Responsibilities\nObservability strategy and thought leadership\nAct as a trusted adviser, consulting with clients and teams on observability strategy, maturity and roadmaps.\nDefine and drive observability standards, frameworks and best practices, and evangelise their adoption across multiple teams.\nProvide thought leadership on modern observability, OpenTelemetry and SRE practice, internally and externally.\nUse influence rather than authority to shift teams from reactive monitoring to proactive, data-driven operations.\nSRE principles in practice\nEstablish Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and error budget frameworks, and help teams use them to balance reliability against delivery pace.\nChampion SRE ways of working, including reducing toil, defining error budget policies and running blameless post-incident reviews.\nSupport incident management, root cause analysis and problem management, and feed the lessons back into engineering practice.\nPartner with development and platform teams to improve reliability, resilience and operational maturity.\nGetting the most from Dynatrace\nMaximise the full capability of Dynatrace across applications, infrastructure and cloud services, going well beyond out-of-the-box configuration.\nUse Dynatrace’s AI-driven analysis, service mapping and SLO capabilities to cut noise and shorten time to resolution.\nIntegrate Dynatrace with OpenTelemetry instrumentation and wider telemetry pipelines to give a single, consistent view of service health.\nTranslating business insight into meaningful dashboards\nWork with business and product stakeholders to understand what matters to them, and translate it into dashboards, service maps and alerts that tell a clear story.\nConnect technical signals to customer experience and business outcomes, so that decisions are driven by data rather than instinct.\nMake observability data accessible and meaningful to audiences from engineers to senior leadership.\nEngineering and automation\nDevelop and maintain metrics, logs, traces and events strategies.\nDrive automation of monitoring, alerting and remediation.\nGovernance and adoption\nSupport governance, onboarding and adoption of observability platforms across multiple teams, building communities of practice that last beyond the engagement.\nRequired Technical Skills\nObservability and Monitoring\nDynatrace\nPrometheus\nGrafana\nOpenTelemetry\nDistributed tracingMetrics, logs and traces\nAPM\nSynthetic monitoring\nReal User Monitoring (RUM)\nService mapping\nDesirable\nDynatrace Associate or Professional certification.\nWe're a Disability Confident Employer\nCapgemini is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2) under the UK Government’s Disability Confident scheme.\nAs part of our commitment to inclusive recruitment, we will offer an interview to all candidates who:\n**Declare they have a disability, and **\nMeet the minimum essential criteria for the role.\nPlease opt in during the application process.\nYour Security Clearance\nBaseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS)\nTo be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks.\nThere are certain criteria and checks required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.\nIn addition to BPSS, you will also need SC (Security Check) Clearance or to be eligible for this level of clearance (by being a UK resident for at least 5 years and not having left the country for more than 28 consecutive days during this period)\nMake it real - what does it mean for you?\nYou’d be joining an accredited Great Place to work for Wellbeing in 2023.
